Went to the A's at Giants game this past Saturday. I'm a casual baseball fan at best - my girl likes tho, so we watch. We were sporting the Green, as that's the hometown.

While in line, this big fat dude continuously tries to start X with A's fans. Super loud - super obnoxious. It's one thing to be a fan, another thing to be incredibly disrespectful to others. I can see why people gets stabbed in the stands, jus trying to instigate.

Any of you guys on here like that? What are you thinking? I don't even think he was drunk yet.

Then again -- when we got to our seats, game went on without issue and many cool people in the stands.

Stupid people man. Take it way too seriously. They act like the team is paying them to act a fool.

Man hold up, I hate going to events where you get stuck in a stuffy section with people who don't want to get up and cheer.  Happened last year at a college football game, my group of friends were drunk and we were trying to get people to stand up and they just gave us the
indifferent.gif
Then some #*@+$ said we were making them feel threatened so we got kicked out.  I by no means am the person that is going to try and threaten someone else at a game, that is lame.  The only fans I would heckle is USC and Oregon fans but even then it is all in good fun (

The most I do is boo opposing team's fans. Sometimes I even talk with them about the game or start friendly competition, like "Watch man we're about to go off right now and end it"

I should've worded that better. What I meant was, there's nothing wrong with being loud and cheering your team on. But if you're heckling other people who are fans that are cheering quietly, they're not any less of a fan, that's just how they roll at games. If they don't wanna be loud, they don't wanna be loud.

Being loud, cheering, and rooting = fan
Quiet, yet cheering and rooting = fan

I've had popcorn and a hot dog wrapper thrown at me at a Giants game.

It happens at a lot of sporting events. I always wear my team colors but I keep to myself. I got no problem with anyone cheering for there team or anything like that, but it's unnecessary to get into anyone's face. Root for your team, boo the other team if you want but no need to get personal and get into with people.

Football is the worst that I've seen, I literally spend 3 hours avoiding fights that people try to start with me, and as an opposing fan I'm very respectful since I know I'm in 'someone elses house'. It is harder and harder to go to games, people can't handle alcohol well and are ridiculous sometimes. Who wants to be around 'likes to fight' guy?

That said when someone spouts off and you just look at them without firing back, they generally sit down and just look stupid

Football is definitely the worst for this I think mainly due to the nature of the sport. It's the sports that "tough" guys gravitate towards the most and sometimes these dudes feel the need to showcase their masculinity by getting in peoples faces plus the alcohol factor of course. One game a year is good enough for me. Ill support my Niners by watching them on television.
