lol no way that is killing a g35,maybe with a apr tune and a k4 turbo upgrade, but then you can also turbo the g too which i wouldnt want to do

but it looks/sounds tough enough to compete

Back to the topic at hand, YES--they are expensive to maintain.

If you have a warranty, you're good. But let that warranty run out and the repairs can add up pretty fast. As much as I love Audi/VW, maintenance is apain. Not to mention there tends to be CRAZY electrical problems, which I'm currently experiencing now. I attempted to diagnosis it, but when there are20+ wires coming from one tail light, it's a wrap for my non-fix-it self.

As a general rule of thumb, if you buy a German whip, be able to have $1k or more in the bank at all times for repairs/maintenance.

I drive an '08 VW GTI, so my car isn't really old or wouldn't have the maintenance costs of an older BMW/Audi/VW.

The one thing I can say that has already been mentioned is, if you're not going to do all the maintenance on the car, it's going to be really expensivein the long run. A typical dealer charges $100+ for oil changes for my GTI, but I do it myself and it ends up costing me $50 (oil filters cost like $10, andyou have to have VW/Audi approved oil or else these fools are going to void your warranty for not running approved oil if you have motor issues that should becovered under warranty...and that oil is like close to $40 for 5 quarts)

So if you're not willing to do almost all of the maintenance yourself, then I wouldn't do it. Then again, knowing your car inside and out, and puttingwork into it as an enthusiast is part of the reason why we do it.

Which is exactly why I'd only lease one. Beautiful cars though.

Exponential deprecation also drives a lot of people to lease European cars or at least buy them after someone else has broken them in.

Certified Pre-Owned BMW dealers FTW.

I've also heard most euro cars get really complicated when it comes to electrical wiring as well.
exactly, i alwasy heara bout them failing out electrical shortages and stuff around 50-60k

im like ugh that sucks, im pretty handy when it comes to cars, i can do most bolt ons and oil changes and stuff, mods are always costly just because they are unnecceasry so

they would always be impractical which i dont care for, mods on whips make them diff so thats fine, im just talking about how ive heard an oil change for a *** whip is 30 bucks,

then a german is $130. i baby all my whips but still i dont want one thing to go wrong and be out of a grand you know?

but peep this something i found online

You'd better not get one if you don't want to be out a grand if something goes wrong, because that's what it will cost. My dad pays $500 a pop justto replace the tires on his bimmer, so you can only imagine what something bad could cost.

I love my A4 but I'm not gonna front like Audi's don't have a tendency to have issues. My '08 a4 needed to be taken to service 3 times for thesame issue. Now, my '09 joint got a intermittent noise coming from the belt directly in front of the engine that didn't come on when it was at theservice center. Luckily, terms of my lease have someone come to me with a loaner and take my whip so it doesn't really bother me. But yeah, sinceyou're gonna be buying I could def see the repair costs adding up quick.

Ain't you that dude who lost his job and house? 400 bones per tire will do that, I guess.

And what year is that joint to require a new gas tank?!

Dude..

My sister has an E39 (2002), she's taken it to the dealer enough times that her car is never dirty

. Luckily most of it was done under warranty. I guess the hassle is worth it aslong as you have an extended warranty.

german cars drive nice, but I like my Japanese cars. Driving german cars, the steering is a little tight for me

a4's are rad. never really had a problem with my old a6 other than control arms that were a recall anyway. not one problem with my a8, except when i triedinstalling the refrigortator. i needed a wire went to the dealership and they just gave me one for free (i tip them when they change my oil) i;d say go for ana4 or a a3. you can find used g35's for great prices these days, and they do look nice slammed.
