to me someone basic, guy or girl, are just sheep. people obviously following trends. I think at some point we were all caught up in it as well. someone said it before and i completely agree "sneaker heads are basic". When i was younger i used to refer to myself as a sneakerhead  and i used to "collect" shoes and matching everything from head to toe. Looking back thats as basic as it gets. Same thing goes for the people trying to emulate kanyes saggy sweatshirt ripped jeans look. you cant follow a "sneaker head" on social media anymore with out them trying to humble stunt with a pair of 350s on.

Basic is a person that is rudimentary in all aspects of their existence. Unoriginal and inept, a tool.

While this is no diss, as several people stated before, even myself, Henz0 is your typical basic person. So is K Steezy, they're both defined by other people's opinion of them. Their self-worth is determined by praise for their ability to ascend within predefined set standards of fashion, subculture and lifestyle. They're not tastemakers, or trendsetters, because their mind simply doesn't think "outside the box". Doesn't make them bad people at all, they're just examples of a basic minded person.

Misusing how? What part of 'gone mainstream' are you not comprehending? It's been written about, blogged about, antagonized, parodied, embraced, etc. There is a standard set of attire deemed the 'uniform' of basic chicks.  To go one step further, if you on that wave because you think it's hot in the streets...there is a good chance you are 'basic,' regardless of the clothing.
