RealTalk: Your President Wants To Raise My Taxes to Close to 60%

This is the part where you make moves to figure out a way around this if it happens
Get outta here talking all that common sense!!!

It's so much easier to sit around and cry foul, and feel anally violated then it is to use the same smarts that got you to a position ofmaking that kind of money and figure out the best way to keep as much of it as possible.
I find it comical how these people whine about having to pay higher taxes because they make so much more money, throwing out the most scariest numbersimaginable, knowing good and damn well you will never actually pay that much. If you do end up getting hit with that kind of tax bill odds are you deserve itbecause you didn't prepare and plan accordingly.

'could' 'possibly' 'might' 'maybe' nowhere does it definately say he is raising your taxes to 57%.. If he does I will agreewith you and say Obama is wrong.

btw OP what is your tax rate now?

Nobody in the world should give away half of their money or more.

It's disgusting. The government is a bloated, inefficient mess.

But I'm guessing (and hoping) that Obama's health care plan dies.

HOVkid,

You and me both are going to be taking HUGE hits. With this new healthcare plan not only am I getting hit with higher taxes to pay for it but as a radiologistI am also going to be taking a sizeable paycut (11-20%) because he believes that specialists make too much money now and should be more on the level of primarycare docs. Guess I wasted all my time graduating at the top of my class etc cause all my hard work is going to be taken away.

The horizon is not looking good at all

Yep. Thats the "great" Obama. Let's see a few more threads talking about his "swag" and his jeans but turn a blind eye to what he'sreally doing. Job well done America.

The worst part is the Govt wants to tax us more and spend more on things we don't necessary agree with. I mean health coverage for every single American even including the illegal immigrants? We're paying more tax for health benefits to illegal immigrants whom send all the money they make here in the States to their home country like Mexico.

Tax More Spend More = Failure
Yea but.... Obama plays basketball! He's cool! He likes sports! So it's OK!!!

I'm all for the top 1% paying for everything.

Obviously if you're only making 350k a year you're not top 1%, so I do disagree with how steep the terms seem to be.

But if you're in that top 1%, I would not shed a single tear for you to pay 1.5 billion a year in tax if you make 3 billion, or even 150 million a year ifyou make 300 million.

Yeah, and you'll only pay the highest percentage on the money above that - it's not like if you make 349k you pay 40% and if you make 351kyou pay 60% - you would only pay 60% on the 1k.

Why dude? It's not enough to say "well they can afford it, etc." The government should never be entitled to half of someone'sincome, not even close.

Yet another thread discussing taxes, obama...when are you guys going to get it. Its pay now or pay later...no matter what you are going to pay. I am especiallysensitive to healthcare reform since I work in the industry.

I could write a book explaining how important what Barack is doing with healthcare is. In a nutshell I'll explain it like this...the costs to providehealthcare to all those who need it is routinely more than what healtcare providers get paid to provide it. We used cost shifting to cover the difference. Withthe amount of uninsured individuals and several other factors this is no longer feasible or sustainable. Without some type of intervention...the healthcareindustry will be in the same predicament the banking industry is in within 2 to 3 years IMO. Unfortunately, bailing us out will be a lot MORE expensive andtake a LOT longer. Not to mention the potential loss of life/quality of life if the healthcare industry failed.

Trust me guys, a 60% tax bracket will be the least of your worries if some type of reform is not enacted. Would I prefer we get this done where nobody paysanymore taxes, healthcare is free, and everybody gets it...heck yes, but that's not realistic.

This going to be painful folks, but trust me, the alternative would be a lot worse.

at the people in here acting like they are not gonna be next. It'll start with the rich but, don't act brand new when you realize that the cost ofheating your home, filling your tank and buying groceries increases.

The majority of people who make over 250k a year own small business and where the government cuts income by taxing, small business owners in hard times willsave income by firing employees.

smh.gif
at you people saying the rich deserve to be taxed more. I don't plan to be broke all my life and plan to work hard as hell to make a 6 figure salary. Why should anyone get taxed more just because they worked harder/smarter than the average individual?

I'm supporting 2 people on 30K and never plan on making 6 figures. I get it, it all trickles down. But being in the top 1% just isn't inmy future. It's tongue in cheek, in other words.

He simply sat down with his CPA and figured out ways in which he could protect his income using various tax shelters and business methods. I don't understand why you wouldn't do the same? I can only assume you have a trusted accountant who handles your finances etc. Why not work with them on how you can eliminate yourself from being completely affected by this? Let's be real though... Your not giving up those checks for a lesser paying job no matter what.

I remember the first time I got a check over 10k I was amazed at how much of it was taxable.

I been telling this guy in every thread he bickers to do the same...

Makes no sense. You can certainly use the system to descend on a lower tax bracket.

He's an attorney, he has to know people. Or be privy to enough information to figure it out himself since he's obviously not dumb.

I thought someone grave dug one of his older threads.
