So "swag" wasn't made popular by rappers because it was first used by Australians in the 1800's to mean "stolen goods"? :rolleyes
Just because you found one use of "pretty" which predates Lil B doesn't mean Lil B wasn't responsible for making "pretty" popular. Plus "named me pretty" isn't the same as "I'm that pretty ___"....
ASAP's "I be that pretty ____" doesn't exist without Lil B's "I'm that pretty ____".
No one is asking you to love the guy's music, but to deny his influence is dumb.

No one cares if you knew who Clams Casino was before ASAP, that's irrelevant. What matters is that ASAP wouldn't have known who Clams Casino was unless Lil B had made him popular through his songs, especially "I'm God". ASAP blew up with "Peso", "Bass", and "Wassup" (I'm not including Purple Swag because when that came out he wasn't "popular" yet); all those songs are clams casino productions. How is that not Lil B being influential?

finally someone answered hahah thank you i did goggle it after no one would answer my question and it said some other weird stuff on there too.    I'd say lil b has influence on his cult followers but not on any rappers i listen too.  maybe some new kids coming up but i dont know.  I think asap and all them are garbage.  for new artist i like Kendrick Lamar, and School Boy Q.

thats a way different discussion but when did i ever say jesus was white?   another thing i could care less what religion you are but why would lil b take a christian prayer and change it and put a bunch of weird **** in it?   why doesnt he go mock other religions?   why just the christian faith?  and yes jesus was born a jew but im guessing you never actually read the bible.   So unless you actually read and studied the bible i dont think you should make some dumb *** comment about it.  It would be like me callin all muslims terrorist when actually there a peaceful religion.

Lil B made himself a joke. On purpose, I believe. He gets how ridiculous he is. And even his fans think he's ridiculous. But, it's fun. Cooking is fun. Swag is fun. Woo! is fun. Calling him Based God and thanking him for random things is fun.
...and just when you think it's all fun and games, he says something serious. Something noteworthy. Something truly positive that you can take away and live with. He's a positive person behind it all. And people joke about his positivity evev, not realizing that when they RT that "I LOVE YOU! YOU'RE AMAZING!" that somebody needed to read that at that moment. That changed somebody's day. Helped somebody. And it's funny and ridiculous...but, it gets into your spirit...while you're joking around.
Even when he was at NYU...it was funny. And people wanted cooking. But, he really did say some important things in that. His only problem is, he's not as smart as he wants to be. Just in the ability to express himself poignantly. But, it works.
I don't really listen to him unless it's him being a complete idiot. But, I semi-follow his as a persona. And the things he says are kind of dope. I think he does important work.

Agree with everything you said and others. Think about this all the time but if you tell this somebody who heard his ignorant songs they will look at you like you crazy. It's crazy cause that's how I started rocking with dude was from him his wild ignorant songs :lol: . I guess I started listening so much I became a forreal :lol: and started checking all his stuff and saw he can spit for real when he want to and has dropped a lot of gems. Always will be a fan of dude and check his music.

Congratulations. You found one of the five verses that a rapper refers to himself as pretty. I don't know why you feel so strong about this when there's nothing but evidence. Lil B started a lot of **** that you see today. I don't have a single mixtape of his and I'm not a fan but I've heard enough. Lil B made it cool to call yourself pretty and now we here MAD rappers doing it. YOU ARE IN DENIAL my man and it's quite funny.
 
I dont understand why people are trying so hard to not see it in this thread. No ones trying to make it seem like hes the greatest rapper alive, just that he has had a significant influence on this new wave of rappers. People are in this thread taking posts out of context and speaking in hyperbole for what reason IDK.

Jim Jones and Young Jeezy both played an equal part in making it cool to have 18 different adlibs on a song with 4 or 5 signature ones, and putting an adlib after every line. A lot of rappers saw how that well that was going over with the public and started doing it themselves. Are we going to deny their influence? Because they took ad libs to a whole new level are we going to call them legends? I dont think so. 

You can hate Lil B all you want, but give the guy some credit. People have taken what they've considered good about him and used it while filtering out the "bad". Thats all this thread is saying, and stuff like this happens all the time.
