To the people that don't believe in God, religion, etc...
What exactly was it that confirmed your stance against it? Was it just reading the Bible/Quran whatever or was it certain writings, books, YouTube videos? The reason I'm asking is because in the majority of my conversations w/ non-believers they demonstrated a high level of knowledge of the religions that they choose not to follow.

"take it on faith": ************ that is not an answer! how you gonna require proof of everything but the eventual fate of your mortal soul? they hit me with this one all the time in Catholic school, and as a result I was on my way out of the game by 12 or so.
- kids born with AIDS: like, what?
- free will: okay so you just gonna create a bunch of creatures and not only give them the burning desire to do everything you hate, but the capacity and cause to logically doubt you exist...then punish them for it? lemme just give this toddler a fork and sit her by the power socket then stand by and shake my head when the obvious happens.
- hell: ETERNAL suffering. not years. not centuries. not the entire span of earth's existence (whether you believe its 4,000 or 4.5 billion years). forever and ever. literally no one in the history of mankind deserves to be incinerated alive for all time (or
"know of God and never be with him" or whatever new age interpretation). hundreds, thousands, millions of years in some cases? okay. for eva eva? thanks, dad.
- Atlantic Slave Trade: so it is now KNOWN that Christianity was only offered to black folks as part of that whole agricultural internship program, but we just gonna keep showing up every Sunday, eh?
- cults: other than membership level, what's the difference again? we laugh at Mormons, Scientologists and whatever **** Jim Jones was on, but accept millions of people following the word of an ancient book to the letter, including ceremonially consuming the body and blood of their savior as part of a weekly ritual. okay. hell, if someone still worshipped the Greek/Roman gods today, they'd get looked at with a high-angle side eye...no, but this is different because it's happening today.
- the suspiciously human emotions God seems to feel...jealousy, anger, sadness...I'd expect a limitless being to be a bit more stoic.
- quote:
This idea that god created the world just so that it would worship him and gets angry when it doesn't is just hilarious to me.
always confused me...like how narcissistic can a deity possibly be? you have unfathomably infinite, unassailably eternal cosmic powers and this is what you do with your time?
the Jesus story, dinosaurs, other planets (and the potential life on them), just so so sooooooooo manymany things. again, all this was by age 15, probably less.
