Im running a half-marathon in 2 weeks. I've training in some beat Jordans that I used to ball in. But my training is only 2-3 miles max.....I'm notsure if those beaters will hold up 13.1 miles. My question: What shoes do you recommend?

Went through some of boxes in closet and found these:

Good to use for race day?

They would be some of the last shoes I reached for to run 13 miles but if they're all you got, God speed.

Yeah, probably not the best idea, but it's better than your beat Jordans if those are your only options.

I would get a new pair of shoes man seriously. I have these, they are great

Retro AM95s aren't built for running as much as their original counterparts were.

You'd think they'd be better than beat jordans since they're new cross trainers, but they suck. Used to use em for the gym, after the first milethe bottom of your feet are gonna feel like that hofstra chick vagina.

buy some asics. i have the nimbus xi's. GREAT shoes.

i NEVER run in nike's

Nothing but terrible advice in here. People just blurting out shoes without knowing the person's gait. Haven't we had enough running threads tofigure this out?

OP, start here: http://www.runningwarehou...Center/FootAnalysis.html

Ideally, you wanna have a specialist assess your foot motion, but you can figure it out yourself if need be. Your weight will also be a determing factor infinding the right shoe.

Nike aren't known as the best makers of running shoes.

Oh yeah, AM95, 97, etc. are horrible for running.

Go with a more reputable running shoe brand such as Aasics, Brooks, New Balance, etc.

forget the shoes...

... let's talk about your training!

less than 2 weeks to go and you're only running 2-3 miles at a time?

this post was a joke... right?

Forget the shoes you won't even have the endurance to run the race. If you're gonna do a half-marathon, let alone a marathon, you need tohave a better base for training.

^^^^Ya I know fam.....but what am i going to do. 100 bucks to enter the race and I didn't pay for it. I dont want to waste no one's money. My goalis 2 hours. Is that reasonable?

Rob you disappoint me.

Thought you'd know better than to use something like AM's to run in.

I wouldn't run in any AM's, even the 360's, they're terrible.

And yeah, training in Jordans is really a bad start, and if you're really wanting to do well, you need to increase your mileage dramatically.

If you're serious about it, run 3-4 miles a day, then one day a week put in a heavy mileage day, around 10.

I hope you're not training on a track or in the gym or anything either..

2 hours should be obtainable if you ran half of it and then walked the other half.

Sustaining a 9 minute pace should be easy. I'd say an hour and45-50 minutes should be a good target goal. Even though it's probably your first marathon of any sort, it's really not all that hard if you're justlooking back on it, and enjoying the scenery.

You're a Cali dude right? Which half marathon you running?

Buy a pair of Asics.
