When I was a senior in high school, my GF at the time refused to go down there unless I shaved it clean. Did it and honestly I still do it now in the summer months. Its so much more comfortable when its hot out. Clean shave like every 6 months and trim downs outside of that.

Used to use my Andis GTX trimmers until I zero gapped them and put on Promate blades. Now they're too sharp for down there. Now I just use a Schick hydro razor.
