So I was listening to the Illmatic Vol. Real Talk

Im not trying to diss Nas I respect his work and think he is a cool rapper but

real honestly the only tack i was just feeling was Ny state of mind.

other than that it was just

anyway what do you guys think cause most people think it is one of the top 5 rap albums ever made but i just dont see it

I have heard it before. And while listening to it today I thought...man this album really is not all it is crack up to be.

Now please understand I'm being civil and not trying to bash any ones opinion but I have a serious question. For the life of me, I've never understoodhow somebody could say, "yea I wasn't feeling it except for a track or two," or "Man, Memory Lane is the only joint I can @%#* with. "

The whole thing is essentially the exact same formula. Opinions are +%$ holes yes, let's put all that aside. It simply just doesn't make sense to likeNY State of Mind and not like Represent. To me, I didn't like Illmatic the first time listening to it. It eventually grew on me and now it's my favorite album and in my mind, the GOAT. But Istill think you're crazy that you only like one song. Whatever floats your boat.

This entire CD is amazing. It was third CD that I ever bought. (After Warren G - Regulators & Boyz II Men - Motown Philly)

I think I have probably listened to it over 100 times in my life.

10 tracks all well produced and well versed. Not a second filler in there.

Maybe it's just going over your head. Or maybe you just can't understand the message that the music is conveying.

This CD is an absolute hiphop classic. Most people who don't even have an educated opinion on this genre of music can recognize it's greatness whenlistening to it.
