id say he played prety well against arsenal. haha. & babam11218719 - yes messi played well in the champions league final against manu. scored with his head. but u see other games like the derby against real.. he scored 2 goals in a 6-2 win with like plenty of shots that cristi w/out a doubtwould have finished. not something id expect out of a player said to be better than cristi.

If u have been following CR's career you'd have known that he sucks at those games. Just the recent ones: CL Final 08, 09 (He scored ManU's goal in 08 but missed the penalty and didn't play well against Chelsea), Euro 08 against Germany (that dive deserves an Oscar), Euro 04 againstGreece (choke)
 
Rukawa0320- i cant disagree with u.. for the 04 choke tho i have an excuse. he was insanely young. but like my coach always said, no matter how old or young,or how big or small, if ur a footballer, ur a footballer. cr's pretty inconsistent. i dont think todays stars are up to par, except for well kaka. exceptkaka doesnt have all that insane marketing behind him like cristi & leo do.. i hope to see people acknowledge kaka now that hes going to be playing onmadrid alongside cristi though. i stand by my opinion though when i said that the ranking for the best goes cristiano>kaka>messi>ribery. but maybeafter this season itll be kaka>cristiano>messi>ribery. who knows? well see what happens. but for such a smart debater, rukawa, whos better? ronaldo,cr or ronaldinho?

ronaldo was dominant and knew how to play the game that was best for the team.
cristiano just whines and dives after he tries to show off to the crowd and then the defender takes it away.

ronaldo has won a world cup.
ronaldinho would have been closer in this discussion but he definitely fell off way off, after signing with milan he's been quiet, ronaldinho in the barcayears showed signs of the greatest but he threw it all away in milan.
messi also has an edge over ronaldo, the difference he makes in matches for barca is way more efficient than cristiano on united.

so here it goes

Ronaldo> Messi> Cristiano> Ronaldhinho
 
3 completely different players. the real ronaldo was the best pure goal scorer ive ever seen, plus he's come back from 3 career threatening injuries andregained his form...a true legend.

ronaldinho is a personal favorite of mine, and when he was in his prime from 03-06 there was no player more enjoyable to watch. hope the space in the milan midfield allows him to do his thing this season.

C.ron is a beast right now..but people fail too realize that it was only a few seasons ago people were questioning his consistency...i'd prefer messi overhim.
 
bossjulio; i was gonan bring up the finals game but i guess enough people already brought it up. puyol completely shut him down down the flank, granted thewhole united team played poorly but puyol just frustrated ronaldo the whole night. yeah xavi and inesta are a vital part in barca's offense but to saymessi just goes out there and do nothing just blows my mind. do you honestly think that? you need to watch more la liga games man. dude just shred defenses inthe box on the right side either cutting in and dishing it off or just sending in some sick %#+ through balls. xavi and inesita feeds him as many balls as hedoes to others. should he have scored more? def. but like i said c.ronaldo takes all the penaties and freekicks for united which is i give props to cause hecan handle them. is messi capable of freekicks? possibly if you've seen him in U21s playing for argentina but i guess barca has better candidates. also,last i checked messi bagged in 38 goals this season and ronaldo bagged in 26 (according to wiki so someone with more reliable source please chime in)
oh well im gonna reiterate and say it again, CR7 plays with the ball too much for his own good.

the first time i ever felt that messi was tested was when they played real. i felt that maybe canavarro could shut him down. but of course they didnt have manyencounters. when they played man u in the finals i think its safe to say that it was the man u defense's WORST GAME EVER. now whether messi's insanetouch is responsible for that or not is left to opinion. but i jus feel that cr creates opportunities AND finishes them. messi just finishes them. i think bythe end of this season were gonna be able to tell which player's better. but everyone is entitled to their opinion. kinda how i feel zidane is GOAT. (atleast 2nd)
 
Play different roles..

Ronaldo in his prime was probably a little bit better than Ronaldinho in his prime. Cristiano hasn't really reached his prime, but is appoaching - he istalented but I cant stand him.

Ronaldo de Lima > Ronaldinho Gaucho > CR9

Currently, Messi > CR9 = Kaka.
