Sometimes you just need a day off. Furthermore, we, the young, are killing ourselves.

With a short staff at work, and a full-time schedule of classes in school, Saturdays have become my only day off. However, that simply isn't enough.Whatever you need to do outside of school and work gets pushed to that one day, so you essentially don't have that day off at all. Every day is justconstant hustle & bustle. Even this past summer saw no break as I was working anywhere from 50 - 70 hours a week. Sure the paychecks seemed nice at themoment, but was it worth it?

This reminded me off Michael Moore's Sicko for some reason. Specifically, the segment where those uppity Americans living in Paris boasted about theiroh-so-wonderful vacation time and amenities. I call them uppity out of sheer jealousy. I'm busting my %$! in school to work full-time to be able to havesome money in my pockets and have that precious commodity in America known as health care. (Part-time employees here do not get coverage). Several friends Iknow are just quitting school because they either cannot handle both work and school or just don't care for school anymore. My circle of friends are mainlymiddle class (whatever that truly means) and a few upper class females. We, the young, are killing ourselves just to make it. It's either money oreducation for most.

So I called out today. A migraine has left me bedridden. I'll face some minimal heat from management on Wednesday, but nothing major. Hell, what's the purpose of giving sick and personal days if employees can't use it?

I slept 'til 1:00 pm today.

. Always in the back of my mind though, I'm happy to be employed during these times.

If i hit the lottery... First thing i'd do is get 8 hours of sleep immediately.

It's part of the nwo's goal to keep you on the move. Struggling to live comfortable. Now a BA or BS ain't worth jack so most people need to get amasters to move up. And that leads to further debt and more hrs out of ur life... The system isndesigned to
Keep u busy. Glad u see it for what it is

i work 7 days a week, roughly around 65 hours. basically up at 630, home by 6.

Im good as long as i get 6 hrs sleep.

This is not how life was meant to be fam
at all....

People no longer sleep, drink water, eat correctly, nor exercise properly...
why do you think humanity is so far behind...

The body is tired, the mind is tired, and lord knows we are tired spiritually.

Sleep deprivation can go as deep as affecting the homicide rate...

Totally agree.
Last week I was stressing myself out, so I decided to skip all my classes.

chasing paper ftw and ftl.

but id rather be tired with money than well rested and broke

good thread OP.

the same thoughts have crossed my mind numerous times

Agreed. Been working 7 days a week for the past 2 years with the normal holidays off. (thanksgiving, christmas, new years eve, labor day, etc.) along withschool (albeit its not full time). Everyone says I work to much but my mind is set on making money to live more comfortably. I have noticed by body wearingdown but I figure I have to do what I can and hope things will get easier for me and I can rest some once im done with school.

I'm tired and broke. Trying to support two people on one income. To the point where our bills are more than I make. I'm slowly just losing myself andnot a damn thing I can do

i just said eff it and decided to get that free money (unemployment) after working 60-70 hours a week at my old job and getting fired because i was the onlyperson in management who didn't let corporate treat them like a welcome mat.

it's been good because i've been able to focus on school and enjoy life which we all need to try and do more of regardless whether we have a job or notbecause it's not worth breaking down at work regardless of how much were getting paid.

after working full time from age 17 until this past april, i think i reached my breaking point and realized this 5-6 sometimes 7 day a week work grind aintworth it at times. when i start working again i'm making sure i find something that pays more and schedules me to only work about 4 days a week.

By keeping us occupied, our life has no sense of direction therefore we let our "leaders" do all the thinking for us. If you can't see how thismodern lifestyle affects our wellbeing and spirituality then I can't help you. I'm up at 0530 and back home after class at 2300... I know what'staking place so I have set goals for myself to insure that this won't continue in my 30s... Wake up y'all
