Yea my boys alarm is kinda nice ...on the keychain it has a little lcd display that even tells you what part of the car is being opened...

I've heard great things about Viper car alarm systems (not sure what the newest model).

I feel your pain though fam, I left my truck at a rideshare (carpooled to work) while some bum jacked my catalytic converter (sp).

After an exhausting day at the hospital, I had to take my truck back to the shop.

While I was driving it the noise was piercing and annoying as hell.

There's platnium inside of it which makes it valuable

Anyway you can get your car into a garage? That's probably your best bet if you want to have a nice display in your car. If not, expect another incident like this if you go with something flashy again.

Yea but I don't want to suffer with this stock radio just because some punk %%@ little kids around here are stealing..

I know thats pretty much the safest option but damn...I hate to change my life for some one else.

Would tinted windows help at all or does that make people want to break in your car even more?

Damn man..that sucks..

But yea Im most likely going to get something from best buy and I want the keychain to alert when the car alarm goes off..hopefully I can get it installed today..

Sucks man, getting your stereo stolen isn't fun, I've been there.

Suggestions? Don't have a nice unit and park your car outside, tint your windows so it's harder to see in at night, or get a removable deck that you can take out at night.

Other than that, it's a risk you run having anything nice out in the open like that.

Do you still have the factory unit/face plate?  See if you can hollow it out and fit it over the aftermarket head unit.  This is what my brother did to conceal his aftermarket head unit after his car was broken into two times (once in Seattle, once in Sylmar, CA).  All you would need to do is remove the aftermarket face plate when you aren't in your car, and put the old one over it.  I'm not sure how it would work in your Nissan, but you might be able to work with it.  Just food for thought.
This is the head unit, without the faceplate on it:

Tint the windows.. Not only will your interior be less visible, if the windows get smashed, the sticky film will make getting into the car harder.. Not sure what tint laws are in your state, just don't get em too dark so cops won't hassle you

thats tough man. hope you can either find 'em or find a way to replace your stuff,

TO THE OP LISTEN UP!!!!

I been in the streets and know the game inside and out ok..

Now based on what you told, somebody you know such as your friend broke into your car..HEre is why I know..

1.You just got your Double Din within 1 week.
2.You came home drunk =passed out

It have to be somebody that both knew you just got that Double Din and somebody that knew you came home drunk... Im not saying it was your boy who dropped you off but well you know.. Go back and think about who knew you just bought that double dina nd who knew you came home drunk OR would had know u would had been drunk on weekend night

@ gettin debo'd. But there is truth to that. Been happinin for years. You get your #!* boosted and its on the display wall when you go to cop a replacement. This is why I can't cosign with hardcore head units with pop out monitors. I'm good with my aux in jack and garmin.

Chalk it up to an L and move on. I just had my apartment broken into a few weeks ago and am not expecting to see any of my stuff again.

Blame it on the economic times, I guess.

I remember my car got broken into. These bums stole the cd deck and the change out of the ashtray

...

I had a $300 tv/dash (double din) installed for not even a week...

x2 Happens all the time..which is why I take my registration out of the glovebox before I get work done and give them a po box as my address..

Come back bigger and better. The cops are lying too. As long as it's over $100 they are suppose to file a report. I think u may wanna upgrade insurance though. Just for the sake of next time.
