Sounding Black and Using Proper English....NOT an oxymoron!

Also, just because someone is speaking in slang or improper english, doesn't automatically mean they sound black. Sounding black is about intonation and voice projectory......it's honestly just a sound
this is taken from my original post....

It was geared towards people who THINK that if you aren't using slang, you don't sound black. What I'M SAYING, is that sounding black is deeperthan that....just like how certain may get off on thinking they act black because they can rap and c-walk. Blackness is deeper than that.

stop using common sense...that type of stuff doesn't fly round here..
but you can't deny the fact that the differences are generally along racial lines/divides......a person from the Kongo will sound more like aperson from Botswana than they do someone from Ireland. I don't know why ya'll are fighting that

it's not based on race?? Still doesn't deny the fact that most of the differences just happen to occur along racial divides/lines, or am I making thatup?

and like I said, in my post, I said "what you are born with" Fine, I'll take that part out. Still doesn't negate the fact that blackpeople, and all people, have a unique sound that came from SOMEWHERE.

No. In your mind, you perceive that he "sounds black" because you already know damn well what he looks like. If you had heard his voice without ever seeing him, you would not be 100% sure about the color of his skin.

Why is it so hard to understand that where and around whom you are raised plays a much bigger role in your manner of speech than the color of your skin??

Don't tell me you can hear a hear a black British or French guy without knowing what he looks like and immediately know he's black...
cuz i damn sure know i cant...
acutally, I used to talk to this dude who was French-Congoloese, born and raised in France...

he sounded like a black dude

thats because he fits into your preconcieved notion of what a "black" voice is.

An Asian or Hispanic or w/e born and raised in America? If I can't see their face, I wouldn't be able to tell what they are. But I do agree somethingabout a black persons voice, I don't know if it's the tone or bass..you can just tell that's what they are.

ok people lets be honest, i know all of you especially the black folks know when they pick up the phone whether its a black person or a white person, regardless of their diction or slang or lack of. People sound white, and people sound black, why is that so controversial?

For the last time, its not because they are black. Jesus Christ. I feel like I'm typing to a brick wall.
