Lame Killer and Blaster hit the nail on the head. Ryu does kind of look basic but that's him in every game even Marvel. Vanilla ice cream so nothing special but solid.
And don't sleep on him in this game, his combos do Damage!!
And none of that FADC into Ultra, his ultra or critical art links after so much stuff and his Denjin Mode V-Trigger adds a lot of stun and damage too.
Once Daigo has some time in the lab and masters him, plus that parry, I think we'll see his true strength. I still want at least the donkey kick or a new move we've not seen before.
Also Daigo ditched Ryu but got knocked out by a Ryu player last EVO and Ryu's been buffed since then so he now has a pocket Ryu.

I'm hoping that Twelve, Oro and Gill get added. I just want to see Gill's "Sephirotric Wing" super in the new version. Watching that UK money match has me hyped. Nash is looking better and better every time I see him played. That just kept throwing that head butt out there. It was so unsafe. I can't wait to see the next character to be unveiled.

The combos in this game look to me much more open. More normals cancelable into other normals that actually do damage

No Blanka in 5 I riot. So tired of scrubs crying about the character. Been my main since SF2 on SNES. I realize from a story perspective he really doesn't have a place past 4. 3rd Strike comes after and 5 after 3rd Strike.
Still though. I can do without Sean, Akuma and Evil Sakura. They lied and gave us another Ken Shoto. He's like a mix of 3rd Strike/CvS2 but still a Shoto.

Lots of random people. Scrubs mainly. Every fighting game forum and many times online post matches I get a message. His style of hopping around, crossovers and mix ups angers players.
I don't think they realize how hard it is to win consistently with him. He's a gimmick character with no real advantages anywhere. He's middle of the pack. Except CvS 2 where he's top tier.

So gimmicky, lol. As long as you know what to do against him and how to punish stuff, it's not bad. All of the characters I play do well against him. CvS2 Blanka was the only time I played him.
