Summer 2011 BBQ Recipe/Set-up Thread

Great thread. I will come back to this very often. I grilled on the daily when it was nice and warm. I prefer charcoal, a CAO Brazilia cigar, some sailor jerrys and coke = the perfect later afternoon/early evening.

One of my favorite recipies:

-2 lbs stir fry beef strips

-2 cups of soy sauce

-1/4 cup of Siracha (aka rooster sauce)

-Three teaspoons of garlic finely chopped

Let this sit for 2 or 3 hours and its the bomb. Tried it with chicken and it was also dope. But next time i'll marinate the chicken a tad bit longer than the beef.

Siracha on anything is

^Bratz its really good if you're trying to get heat on something that you cant marinate for long. Ive used almost every common hot sauce in marinades but siracha seems to be the best holding flavor.

Grilled corn on the cob with butter and parmesan cheese is unbelievable

Can someone explain to me how a smoker works? Do you just put Charcoal in it or what? And could I cook things like chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs on it? Or does it take a long time to cook the food, like you could only cook ribs or something?

Thanks for any help,

And great thread A++++ & bookmarked

Anyone have any recommendations of cleaning products to use for the grill? I've only been using the brush/scrapper combo.

its easier to clean the grill when its hot..

put it under the coals or gas fire.. and then scrape.. it comes right off..

if you want remove it and run it through the water hose.

I usually use the grill brush as soon as I shut it off. I never grill an amount off food that I have trouble cleaning off, was really just curious if cleaning products (sprays/wipes, whatever) were all that necessary.
