I don't hate Melo. But the GMs decision to bring Melo via trade rather than wait for FA pretty much bleep our franchise or what was left of it. We finally have some breathing room and if Phil can't deliver I expect more Melo hate.

Why do you say that? They could feast on the east

They say that because Melo is probably the most misunderstood player in the NBA. People mistake his loyalty and his ability as a scorer for arrogance/selfishness/being a "cancer" who cant co-exist with others.

People think that because Melo didnt "Lebron" the Knicks and leave them in the dust, he doesnt care about winning.

1st - Choose money over legacy, at this point in his career, by staying with Knicks over Bulls and any other competitive team. Knick fans will disagree, but any reasonable NBA fan knows it's true. Get your money, but don't say you never had the opportunity to win. It's something he has to live with.

2nd - Coming to MSG during pre-games, but leaving when the game start. Like you better sit and watch your team, like a leader should. Kevin Love caught heat for for not being at game, so Melo isn't excused. In fact, he should be held to a higher standard, being that he is the face of the franchise.

3rd - The All-Star game fiasco. He shouldn't have played. Melo robbed a young, player from getting an All-Star nod. Everyone knew he was hurt, and he was even shut down for the rest of the season the very NEXT WEEK. I understand it being in MSG, but that's overrated IMO. Would have garned more respect in some people's eyes if he took the route, and not played, but campaigned for a young player, like Kobe did for Dame Lillard.

1) gotta respect the fact that win or lose melo staying loyal to the team
2) support the team full of players who will be gone soon, his decision whether he wants to stay but i understand your reasoning
3) all star game in MSG. injury wasn't at risk of getting worse by playing on it so U got to allow him to play this game. What young promising player in the east deserve that spot from melo?

Did KG quit on the T-Wolves? When a player is aging and is stuck on a terrible team, but hasn't got a ring, people want to see the win at least one.

Melo is 31 yrs old, on a perennial lottery team. No one would say he quit EXCEPT Knicks fans. Most NBA fans wanted to see him leave. Re-signing with the Knicks, all but guaranteed a ringless career. We clown CP0 for no conference final apps, but Melo can't get in the playoffs.
