The "Best" Guest Verses EVER VOL: Choose Your Own Destiny

No Jay on "What We Do"?

I thought about this, and came to the conclusion that Beans verse is better. Jay had some cool little lines, but Beans is spitting something much deeper.

Which is probably why he bats cleanup on it.

...no, B. Sige in the third lane
Gramps still prayin' workin on my nerves man...
Like, "Son you gotta get your soul clean...
Before they blow them horns like Coltrane..."
But still I cry tears of a hustler
Wipe tears from my mother, pull out beers for her brothers...
That's above us, make beds for the babies
Tuck kids under covers, buy cribs for their mothers
**** I'll probably be wylin' with their fathers
Tell Ms. Robert, tell Enijah that I'm ridin' for her father
That's like my brother, like same mother different father
Any problems dog know I got 'em
And still we grind from the bottom
Just to make it to the bottom sold crack in the alleyways
Still gave back Marcy a Dollar Day
Real gangstas make hood holidays
They ain't thank us but we still paid homage mang
Soul Food Sunday lookin' like Big Momma's mang
Tell the gang I never break my promise mang...mang...unnh!

I'm sorry I disagree and I listened to that song this morning. Yeah I know surprise surprise Antidope sides with JAY-Z and all that, but it seriously wasnt better. Hovs verse was better while being substantially shorter.

...MANG! Lemme get 'em Free
Hov never slackin mang, zippin in the black Range
Faster than the red ghost, gettin' ghost wit' Pac-Man
One-time know I got a knack to get that change
Leader of the black gang, R-O-C mang
Bang like T-Mac, ski mask air it out
Gotta kill witnesses cause Free's beard's sticking out
Y'all don't want no witness ****, we squeeze hammers mang
Bullets breeze by you, like Lousiana mang
But I gotta feed Tianna mang
So I move keys you can call me the Piano Man
Rain...sleet, hail...snow man
Slang dope, E, hydro man

You dont have to look any further than what happens when the song is performed live.
The Hov verse steals the show.

Wait, you said "seriously" it wasn't better. Like....."seriously". Well then you must be right.

You act like anyone is going to take your opinion on anything regarding Jay Z seriously.

Again, there is probably a reason why Beans verse is last. And he kills it.

Jay'z verse is mad short. A few cool lines. But read what I just laid out. Beans verse, the honesty, sincerity, the subject matter is what makes it great.

If you can't relate, then you can't relate. Wouldn't surprise me.

Ohhhh, the research! The editing!

So I'm supposed to be surprised that a live audience reacts to Jay Z?

Dog, the audience did nothing more when Jay came on then they did when Free started the song. In fact, I see what looks like a dead crowd a few times during JayZ verse.

You're trying to hard. Read the words. You either get it or you don't.

I'm not discrediting Jay's verse. But rhyming "gang", "bang" "mang" with "mang" and again.....with "mang" does not trump the real **** Beans puts down.

Really? This is what we're doing now? No one has to 100% relate to something to be able to understand it, if that was the cause how many of us could relate to most rap? 1% at best? Come on now... I mean I could easily say "Well can you?" but what is the point in that. The verse isnt hard to break down, and being able to relate to it or not, doesnt change the fact that I understood it. I will say that if you can 100% relate to a verse then that can make it better, word to Song Cry, but put it this way: I cant relate to either verses, so my stance on them would be without bias now wouldnt it. Beans verse was raw, no question about it, I just think Hovs was better.

:lol

I said "IF you can't relate". And you caught feelings.

Adorable.

Again, you have lost all credibility when discussing Jay so many times, that you thinking "Hovs is better" is no surprise. In fact, you went out of your way to reply to me when I had the AUDACITY to suggest that Beans verse was better. Searching for videos that proved absolutely nothing.

As a person who is a Jay fan, but not a groupie, and a Beans fan, Beans verse is better. It's all opinions son.

But it's a Freeway song, with Jay Z on it, and Beans closes the show. That should tell you something.

what no lil wayne on we love stuntin??? yall wildin outtttttt.

And you followed up that with "It wouldnt surprise me". Lets not kid around, we all know what you were implying. No feelings were caught, it was just a moot point.

You made a comment that I disagreed with, so I replied. This is a forum, thats the whole point, and its not even like I singled you out, I've replied to several posts in this thread, I probably have the most posts in it.

I'm also a JAY and Beans fan, IDK why I'm a groupie all of a sudden but I think JAYs verse is better. Its all opinions son

That tells me that its the order that the verses were laid down in, nothing more. Just ran through the list and picked the first song that proves that this makes no sense. On Stay Scheming, French Montana went last, he doesnt have the best verse.
Beans outshined Jay a lot when they collaborated

We've had this conversation before I believe.

Guess Whos Back, You Me Him and Her, Gutted, Its On, This Cant be Life, Ingorant **** to name a few. Beans had better verses? The only two songs where legitimate arguments can be made are What We Do and Where Have you Been.

It was a "moot point" that you're still dwelling on. OK.

Incredible how much of this you're taking to heart. It wouldn't surprise ME. My opinion. Right. We all know what I was implying. And?

I said that I wasn't a groupie. Did you take that personally too?

If I were suggesting that you were, it wouldn't be "all of a sudden". There is a large sample size for this.

French may not have had the best verse but he's the one who made the song. Interpret as you will.

Beans bats cleanup on that record for a reason.

Was just about to say this

Beans on "Where have you been"

:x :{ :(

Hell yeah he did.

I was listening to The Truth and Public Enemy #1 from Beans :x

Nas wasn't lying when he said that line.

Worst thing Jay could have done was responded to and got in a rap battle with Beans.

But, Beans is the ultimate underachiever... what could have been if he would have been on his grind :{

Though Jay had the better career when it is all said and done.

No one is offended man, I'm just trying to address everything you said. If I avoided it, you or anyone else could have easily said "Why are you dodging X and Y?" Just trying to carry on the conversation as best I can no ones taking anything personally. You guys got it though, not gonna sit here and totally derail what is a very good thread.

J Cole on Beautiful Bliss has gotta be top 15 of all time. Cole murked Wale, that beat, and the entirety of the DMV in just over a minute. And then had the audacity to end with "Aye Wale...good lookin >D"

:x

And I ain't een mad 8)

Reflection Eternal - Just Begun (ft. Jay Electronica, J. Cole & Mos Def)

Curren$y - Address (ft. Stalley)

Another one from Spitta...This one kinda broadened Stalley to a bigger audience...
