The Combat Jack Show Thread

I think Tyson’s prerecords his podcasts and holds onto them for a bit. I think the joe budden should drop soon. I believe Karl kani recorded the same day joe and them were on a kani was posted a few weeks back.

On their Banks convo. It's always a audience for lyrical street music. It might not be whats trendy and breaking the stream records but it's still a lot of people that wanna hear that. Styles gets 600-900k youtube views on new music. That Styles and Dave East project got millions of views. Ghostface new video got 500k views. They still wanna make and put out music. Banks just don't want to and he's using "nobody wants to hear me" as a excuse. Banks always been a stand off awkward dude. In 2003 it came off as him being a tough guy but now it's like he just don't have the confidence.

Glad they finally answered the question about 9th.

Phonte hinted at it with saying that they had been basically a duo since The Minstrel Show before

I'm glad Pete asked the question.

I'm loving this R&B discussion on Gillie and Wallo

Listening now

Not sure how it got to MLK but I’m dying

R&B list had me dying.

Yo I tell people all the time Casino is my favorite movie, that **** is better than Goodfellas to me. My favorite movie. Number 2 for me is Above the Rim.

Both are classics but I always prefer Goodfellas. The style of it is better to me.

Wallo was throwing out some great movies. Malcolm X (my favorite movie ever), The Town, Mo Better Blues, I'm Gonna Get You Sucka ( that was the blue print for spoof movies).

Gillie was naming them slave and disfunctional black movies with Roots and The Color Purple. I still ain't seen either one of those in full. Can't sit through 'em.

Wallo saying you can't say certain things about black people and named Mike, Prince and some ***** named Karate Earl

Actually Robert Townsend's Hollywood Shuffle which is also better

Could always tell Malik was feminine in his interviews and he's said in interviews he likes dressing as women. So I'm not really surprised. It's just getting old when they always feel the need to make this a promotional thing.

Yeah, Kennan helped Robert Townsend with that too. Eddie, Kennan and Robert Townsend did a lot for black comedy.

Yeah, it has me perplexed too.

And I'm not sure why one person sharing their preference is somehow supposed to inform or impact my preference in any way.

I get trying to speak out against the hatred that's spewed, but this **** always slides into 'I don't care and neither should you' territory.
