The Combat Jack Show Thread

:lol It’s crazy how they never get sued but would get sued in this instance.

All they gotta say is allegedly. They’ve done it every other time. No lawsuit.

But yeah Snipes would look crazy even suing now anyway.

Calling someone a woman beater is a crazy accusation to anyone but Aubrey.

The way lawsuits are done now. I wouldn't say Wesley would look crazy.

Bringing something up after 30 years. Especially now in 2025, and Wesley is just starting to get his career back on track since his incarceration and Dolemite and Daredevil. Dude was on the street to video career trajectory.

I think at this point, everyone needs to get some therapy and move on with your life.

The people I don't blame for bringing it up are David Justice and Christopher Williams, because the accusation is always louder than the dismissal. I'd want every interviewer to bring it up so I can deny it. I'd tell them to bring it up.

but the women who are asking why David Justice brought it up? That would be like interviewing him and not asking him playing for the Yankees or winning finally with Atlanta.

Marc gotta sit down with this pandering all the time. Martin wasn't clowning Pam cuz she dark skin. He used joke on Gina's big head.

That girl Ari Lennox got some serious insecurities with her that get triggered by the slightest thing. She need to stop watching comedy and figure herself out.

Think the point he was trying to get at is that those types of jokes land on dark skin women differently.

She's definitely insecure tho.

Them landing like that has absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

Martin never called her dark skin.

Gina was the one getting called mellow yellow, Redbone, etc

The world doesn’t care about Ari’s insecurities.

and I’m a dark skinned male. Never had issues getting women.

People have preferences. Find those who prefer you. That simple:lol :lol

… Martin and Pam were the same damn complexion ironically.

Coles 2nd girlfriend was legit probably lighter than Tisha Campbell and they use to rag on her like crazy.

Pam was fine as hell

Can’t stand Marc dawg. He’s got a little man complex.

Ari wasn’t watching the show properly. EVERYONE got cracked on in that show. Punches were pulled for no one

But they didn't. Nobody took those jokes as "it's because she's dark skin". Pam's character was not a dusty dark girl nobody wanted. Pam was more of a sex symbol than Gina. When Pam walked on screen dudes barked and all that. I watched Martin in real time and reruns with A LOT of women. Nobody thought that.

Everybody on Martin got jokes. Tommy had no job and was bald. Cole was dumb and lived with his mother. Martin was short. Gina had a big head. Should people fake being offended by those jokes too?

Ol girl need to get off social media and get herself together.

The discourse was definitely online before her. About Shenene as well.

We live in a different world with a different generation of people

Who??

I been watching Martin since I was 6 years old no black women was offended by Martin's jokes. It was never a issue in our community. This is some new **** with people that have deep seeded issues and internet. They project it on people. That girl Izelia Banks (sp) is another one.

Yo, no black women?

You can literally see women agreeing with Ari.

Life is all about perspective. You're not a black woman

These topics are always weird to me.

Because it seems to become if a woman says anything it becomes an attack on her and men invalidate her feelings or thoughts.

Sounds rather nasty, and why these conversations are always unproductive, because nobody listens and just talk at the other person.

As black men we should be a little more introspective in how we sound.

It's definitely weird to me. People can't seem to understand that you can't tell people to not be offended at what they find offensive.

We all have different perspectives and experiences. We are looking at it from a male perspective and lived experiences. Those who are offended are looking at it from the lense of a dark skinned black woman. I don't know what it's like navigating life a dark skinned black woman.

Also find it weird in todays time that dudes be up in arms about the **** women be spewin on the net. Why do we wanna go back and forth with woman so much about what they feel? I used to feel a type of way to some **** they say but then I just learned to try to see things from their perspective as well as accept that some woman are just gonna say **** sometimes and doesn't deserve to get me riled up

I’m a dark skinned black MALE. I never got complexion jokes as a kid. Again, that didn’t stop girls from putting notes in my bookbag

Did you for one second think MAYBE Ari Lennox cracked on people as a kid? We don’t know what she did her childhood

She herself probably picked on other kids for all we know. Ya’ll have no tact

Shenene was based off Martin’s…. SISTER. If the show bothered her so much, why did she continue watching it :lol :lol

If Martin or any other comedy from the 90s or ‘00s came on today, the jokes would be different. It just is what it is

Different? Have you gone on social media? It’s a CESSPOOL of people getting off by ridiculing others. That’s all Twitter is.. facebook… IG… people are nasty As hell in these comment sections and videos.

Ya’ll need to stop acting like today’s society is so drastically different than the past :lol :lol

…. The problem is the people who are “always offended” can and ARE offensive to others.

It’s HYPOCRITICAL. That’s the point.

I can bet you $100 that Ari Lennox called another classmate or kid “ugly” or might’ve picked on someone because of their looks. Whether as a youngster or currently.

She has not been complimentary to EVERYONE she’s encountered in her lifetime. It’s shameful for her to be upset about Martin’s show when I’m 100% she’s criticized someone for their looks. She’s not a saint

Hypocrisy

This part.

This discussion was already had 2 pods ago. Nothing new has been really offered to the topic whether it be info or perspective.

I mostly disagree with what she saying and since it’s Martin of all shows I can’t waste energy arguing it.

I just go back to the common sense solution. If you don’t like it especially if it offends you don’t watch it. Nothing is going to change about a classic black sitcom from almost 30 years ago.

I be damned if I'm about to use overthink twitter as some measure on how black women feel. I rather talk to them in real life. Ari Lennox, Scottie Beam, Izelia Banks. Those types do not represent all black women.

Girls that can't laugh and everything is some dark agenda black men have against them.

This doesn’t matter until you can prove it.

Exposing her for doing that would be funny but it’s make believe until it happens.

They want life to be played on “rookie” mode, while everyone else plays on “All Madden”

All 3 of those women probably had a “mean girls” stage at some point in their lives. It’s so phony man.

You mean to tell me, 34 year old Ari Lennox has NEVER critiqued or poke fun at someone’s looks…? Highlyyyy doubtful

but why can't we have our colorism, homophobia, misogyny and racism

It was worse in the 70's.

All those Norman Lear shows form the 70's. I've said for the longest that TV treated the audience like they were smarter back in the 70's. The Jeffersons, Sanford and Son and All In The Family you had to get it, but a lot of it was still offensive.

I watched Three's Company a couple of weeks ago and forgot how wild that was. If I was gay I'd probably feel a way.

A lot of things I do like ayo and pause might seem offensive.
