Still waiting on a answer cuz we jumping from Martin to shows that was blatantly racist in the 70's to Chappelle.

Same thing. I think the racial draft is corny as ****, looking back. But it was hilarious to me in real time.

I got the DVD collection of Chappelle show, and still love a lot of skits. Same thing. Some **** just don’t hit the same. That’s ok.

Somebody could say they don’t find the “Pee on You” skit funny or interesting anymore, and that is their opinion and completely fine. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t watch comedy, or can’t handle tough jokes or something .

Clearly, Ari Lennox is a sensitive woman, who likes to share her internal thoughts and reflection on social media

So let's be clear because the convo is getting twisted. Y'all think Martin's jokes about Pam was colorism? The jokes about everybody else cool, even on Martin himself but the Pam jokes crossed lines?

I dunno. I dont think saying something doesn't hit the same or isn't as funny as it used to be is the same as claiming colorism because of who was being joked on.

My lived experiences? It was just nappy, unkempt hair. You comb the top and sides but didnt get that back, now ya ****s all curled up.

It happened to light skinned and dark skinned chicks.

Im open to the possibility this has a more sinister origin, but it wasn't that way for me growing up.

Light skin people have peazy/beady bee hair too though

I’ve mentioned on several occasions my fair skinned cousins who have hair that’s far more courser than mines. That’s always been a misconception as well

Again, Alllllll flavors or black people have different hair textures. And has always been myth. There’s no such thing as good hair.

A lot of light/fair skinned women are bald under those wigs.

There are darker black people with silky, long hair….

We all know things like are on a spectrum. But we ALL know who people were talking about having “Beadie bees, ashy” etc etc.

It’s really colonialism (colorism within the black community worldwide is a product of this).
