"The Decision" in retrospect

My opinion that Lebron is an ignorant, pompous **!%*!% will never change, but hey its not really his fault. Just look at his mom.

I just feel that if you're gonna %$+% on the town that did so much for you during your tenure there, at least give them a heads up and let them know beforehand that you would be taking your talents to south beach.

How exactly did he %*+% on the town? Don't say because he left with a special show on ESPN.
And what did Cleveland do for him that would not have been done in any other city that had the opportunity to draft a once in a generation athlete like Lebron?
You act like he needed Cleveland more than they needed him.

I've also never gotten the point of forming an opinion on someone you know from TV and only TV. You as an adult should know that the media dictates what they want you to see and how they want you to perceive someone.

If you know him personally, then I figure you entitled to your opinion on the guy, but all that here say stuff is irrelevant to me.

LOL at fans thinking they know these athletes personally.
I never said I personally know Lebron James, but when you're a celebrity, you're personality is gonna be judged by what people see when you're in public... And publicly, Cabron James is a pompous arrogant certified %@*-clown... and It's been published that Cleveland did everything they did during his time there to accommodate Bron Bron and his boy boys.

I definitely recognize that he is one of the top 2 or 3 players in the L right now, but he went about everything the wrong way and I'm sure he would say the same thing (whether he admits it or not).
I can understand your judging from public perception but you must know from experience, perception is NOT equal to reality. Hell, just look in General, where some of these guys would have you thinking their the baddest guys around when u know in real life that ain't the case.
Of course all the jerk things you do will be magnified but I'm sure you never hear about good things he does. Does that mean he never does good things? Of course not.

Yea I'm sure he would do it over but for the life of me, I just cant understand the hatred that's come from people. I consider myself a huge sports fan and its a mystery to me. I just think its petty behavior.

at the end of the day if lebron wins rings in miami he made the right move, i could care less about the sidekick talk and all that b.s because lebron isn't a sidekick nor is dwayne wade, that whole batman and robin talk is dumb, if they both play a huge role and part in winning rings for their team then that's all that matters. regarding him leaving cleveland however, how he handled it, anyone who thinks "the decision" was an acceptable way to go about it is a damn fool and is letting their biased views affect their common sense but that's normal on here.

came in here to say SUBTLE KOBE BASHING thread. dude ignored everyones opinion on the first page except people who brought up Kobe.

Who's bashing Kobe? So if people don't say that Kobe is the best it's "Kobe bashing"?
laugh.gif
The dude is still a top 10 player and played better this season than last season. But to say that he plays with legitimate talent around him (including Gasol, who is at LEAST as valuable as he is) isn't "bashing", it's FACT. Fact that can be supported by plenty of evidence. Also, I love how some people are quick to hate LBJ for his flaws and yet are enamored with Kobe.
laugh.gif
Way to root for a modern-day "saint" instead of the evil LBJ!
dude, he made a topic asking why people were mad about the decision. he brought up Kobe in his initial post. people point out that most people dont care that he left cleveland, just the way in which he did it. OP ignores all those logical comments and only responds when Kobe is brought up and now look at the %%#% storm this thread is.

From what I see, Lebron James is an arrogant, egotistical, jerk.
From what I see, the majority of superstar atheletes are arrogant, egotistical, jerks.

Don't know why Lebron gets hated on so much more than the rest of these guys. I root for him as an athelete because he plays for my team and because he's fun to watch. His personality is irrelevant in my opinion.

I know BS isn't well respected on this forum but what he said on the subject
nerd.gif

He could have chose Winning, Chicago. Loyalty, Cleveland, Immortality, New York. In the end he chose HELP.

Biggest 'Look at Me' moment in sports. (something along those lines anyway)

Old topic but this parody never gets old to me

at the Lakers NOT being a playoff team without Kobe.  I guess people forgot Gasol took Memphis MULTIPLE times to the playoffs.  Give him a Bynum, Odom, Artest and Phil Jackson and you're telling me they won't make the playoffs??? Yeaaaaa okaaaay.

Why do people kept mentioning Artest like hes good or something?

The people who keep mentioning Artest obviously havent seriously watched the NBA for a couple years. Artest is averaging 8 PPG and constantly miss wide shot open shots, they dont even guard half of the time. Ok if Kobe was gone, he may average 10 PPG. Artest is a pure role player at this point.

Of yeah I forgot Gasol had been to the Playoffs MULTIPLE times because he went and was promptly swept every time he went...... So okay I react my earlier statement... The Lakers would be fighting for the 7th or 8th spot then get promptly swept by the Spurs, Thunder or Mavericks.

Is that better?
laugh.gif

Who brought up how well they'd do in the playoffs???  You were acting like without your "almighty" Kobe that the Lakers would be some lottery team.  Kobe fans like you always try to make up some mythical "chuck norris" type @@!# when it comes to Kobe as if they don't have a winning record WITHOUT kobe already.

SO yeah, you proved my point, the Lakers would STILL be a playoff team without your boy.

Oh and

at you dissing Ron Artest.  Y'all should be saying "THANK GOD for Ron Artest" after saving y'all in game 7.

Strongly disagree.  The way the Lakers are currently constructed, you take Mamba off the team, you have a slightly better version of the current Utah Jazz.  And the Jazz played with Deron Williams for over half the season.  So the Deron Williams for half the season completely eliminates the slight edge that the Kobeless Lakers would have over the Jazz.  The Jazz have won 36 games this year.

Just sayin.  Back to the topic.

QFT.

Lakers without kobe will basically be the memphis grizzlies of '04-'06.

He wants to make himself his own brand (the biggest brand). He took some steps back with 'the decision.' I'm not mad at him. Just sayin
On another note, he could prolly pull some strings and get his moms on the next seas of celebrity rehab
