****The Everything LaVar Ball Thread****

Media about to have a field day w/ Lavar

They've been waiting for this moment.

Lemme ask...u think there's something strange about none of Lamelo's Spire games being televised on ESPN? The network couldn't get enough of this family, there was still a hoopla surrounding Melo when he came back stateside, but no major networks have shown any of his games...

There's no opposing High School star to match him up with?

Its not 2003 and this isn't Lebron?

ESPN barely even televises the McDonald's All American game- - - why would one, Lamelo Ball command more airtime than the top 25 other high school blue chip prospects?

Nothing strange about none of his Spire games being televised. At all

I can't say. I do know Spire signed a deal w/ FloSports when Melo got there. All of their games were streamed live. Not sure about the broadcasting rights/exclusivity

ESPN shows a good amount of HS games through some of their secondary channels like ESPNU.

Definitely not surprised by these recent events. Never trusted Lavar. All those antics really made me skeptical of his decision making. No hater but sometimes the writing is on the wall. Hope the best for those kids.

Lavar had a good idea and a great end goal his execution and they way he moved was just careless and too over the top. He loved the cameras and trollin too much. Somebody else will come along and learn from these mistakes and do it successful. That's how it always is, the man that comes up with the idea catches the heat, takes bumps and bruises to make it a little easier for the next man.
Yeah it can be done, whole time Spencer Dinwiddie flourishing with his brand doing more than someone like him would get from Nike.

As far as brands catered directly for bball is And1 the only brand that really dipped into Nike, Adidas, Reebok, etc for a period of time?

This is about as close as we’ll ever get to you remotely suggesting that you were wrong. So, sure.

I’ve always admitted when I’ve been incorrect.

You’re pretty consistent with the dumbass questions and assumptions though.

Keep up the good work!

There were some brands in the late 80s and early to mid 90s. I'd agree with you that And1 in the early 00s was the last brand to make a significant impact.

That Oak Hill game against Cole Anthony was going to be televised until Oak Hill pilled out. Couple games got nixed as well. But Spire played some games on ESPNU this year if I recall correctly.

Nobody is really trying to watch him and his goofy layup package right now.

Better?

LOL @ :38 & 2:35 Alan sitting behind Lavar impatiently waiting for the wire to clear :smh:

Let’s not.

He wants to focus on the fact that I said espn barely televised hs basketball.

This simpleton took that to mean that they don’t televise hs hoops at all- which I did not say.

Now for some idiotic reason I need to admit that I’m wrong, when I’m not?

There have been a few threads where he’s just being defiantly obtuse .

I’m not going back n forth with him anymore.

That dude reads every post and takes what’s said super super literally, with no nuance or reading comp skills ever applied.

Then he will keep basically saying “you’re wrong” because you refuse to acknowledge his literal (and elementary) interpretation of everything.

Some people call that stupid. I’ll leave the characterization up to y’all.

Anybody else give a single damn about Melon not being on ESPN?

Zion vs Melo ONLY made it onto Facebook Live last year NOT ESPN, WHAT IN THE F*** would make anyone think that Melo should be on ESPN vs this year’s crop of players?

Nah, u were wrong. It’s ok, buddy. Typed all that **** for nothing lol

There's a difference between taking things literally and inferring. This herb talked about ESPN barely televising games, when that's jut not true. You know, the part where he was wrong. I wasn't the only person who pointed out the networks on ESPN where you can find HS hoops.

On top of it all, he questioned WHY Melo would have his games televised? LOL. Like this Ball family wasn't in the forefront of media cycles for the circus that surrounded them. ESPN had Lamelo's Spire choice as a HEADLINE when it was announced. Why wouldn't I ask if his games would be televised on the network? Didn't matter where he was ranked at the time, the Ball family generated clicks and viewers.

Goofy.

LOL.

Dude came here just to prove my point but is still acting like I’m wrong.

That 1 dimensional trolling is weird

Very weird. Then does EXACTLY what you said he was gonna do. “Drrrr drr drrrrr you’re wrong because reasons.”

Just ignore the moron and let us grownups converse.

I really wish I could go back to 2017 and pull all the receipts of dudes in here reverse cowgirling Lavar and BBB

I don't think these people necessarily believed that the brand was going to be successful. Most were just happy to see a father and son create a brand independently.

 Yeah i'm trying to understand how them being defrauded now changes wanting them to be successful with their idea. Still want to see it from other young players that suddenly come into fame and wealth.

A kid like Zion gotta be the one to pull off what lavar thought they could do not zo.

I think there was a strong albeit small contingent that were pulling for Lavar and his “we’re building our own thing” story.

Unfortunately there’s an even louder and bigger contingent of people who hated him (without knowing him at all) who are gleefully celebrating an unfortunate turn of events for the ball family.

I think those people are the “sheep” you speak of.

Or are they clowns?

What kind of person does one have to be to cheer other’s misfortune?

And what kind of person gleefully cherry picks a situation like this and belittles a man whose ultimate goal was to better his family?

Lavar’s ham-fisted approach aside, he was always trying to do right by his kids.

Parents make mistakes.

Y’all are real life weird if you find any joy in this situation.

[this isn’t shots fired at you SorianoTron... your comment prompted me to say that though]

I hear you, and I too coming from a single parent home used basketball to find male guidance and character in my life and I did understand and feel that connection with Lavar initially...

but then you realize these boys all came from money grew & up in the hills, but as lavar stepped into the LIMELIGHT and started opening his mouth, you realized he was more CRAZY COACH DAD than PROUD SUPPORTING FATHER (not saying he's not that)

I mean there are many fathers and strong male leaders in communities who are doing the EXACT same thing as lavar but....BEHIND THE CURTAINS, no cameras, no reality shows, no bottled water.

He just trying to cash checks man, got kids lining up for his autographs so he can buy some more cars....cmon man especially at $500 retail???????????????? Google image SCREEN PRINT tee's????????

Nike on the other hand HAS ALWAYS supported athletes LGBT, disabled, minorities, etc. the list GOES ON....to say nike aint empowering athletes is foolish and was another ploy lavar was using to herd sheep towards the BBB cash machine.
