This false. The MC is just not popular like it use to be. You obviously aint looking if you want hear them. This aint the days when you can just switch it on to BET and some times MTV to see them all.

He's right tho...
In the last 10 years theres been less than 10 MCs to come out (that mattered atleast)...
All the MCs out there are the SAME guys that have BEEN around...
When I think of MC I always picture Black Thought...
There's A LOT of rappers out there, even a few lyricists...

Common SUCKS now tho... But he's deffinetly an MC, but much like NaS they both came out in the 90s...
Kinda like what KRS One's NOSE said:
"An MC can BE a rapper... But a rapper can never BE an MC"
But I made a thread a couple years ago breaking down the difference... Maybe I'll make another (even tho the forum isn't what it used to be)
As far as what TIME said... YES, that's why I think of Black Thought when I picture an MC...
