The NBA Draft Thread

Did Monk have more ball handling duties as a high schooler?

I know a few people pointed out pre-draft that KAT was actually a capable shooter in HS even though he didn't display that at Kentucky

Yeah and he wasn't good at it.

Monk was the same shot jacker in HS that he was at Kentucky, he just dribbled more/

he gets tunnel vision on drives, handle isn't advanced enough to create good looks in the paint.

settles for tough 2's.

and Morrison probably just saw his reflection

I've seen Monk make some nice passes here and there and think he can get to the point where he can play PG serviceably in a pinch.

His handle is the bigger issue to me, he really needs to tighten that up.

@stevewisemanNC Harry Giles is heading to the NBA
With Skal coming on lately, I think teams will roll the dice on Giles' pedigree and try to rehab him.

Harper: De’Aaron Fox is in everybody’s spotlight now

The difference that I see with Fox being compared to non-shooting PGs like Rubio is that Fox is a scorer. Rubio and Rondo were not threats in that regard. I think the jump shot will eventually come, at worst, a mid-range game.

Fox may have played his way to the 3-5 range ahead of Smith.

Monk of the other hand had me worried. Would you guys think that his ceiling have become lower after the last couple of weeks?

Fultz vs Ball in the NBA is gon be fire. I hope Fultz destroys dude tho. He seems crazy competitive. Lonzo dont seem to be built like that

His ceiling wasn't that high to begin with, but I def think he'll get better as time goes on. He's only 19 and his weaknesses are easy to work on.
Kid himself said that he never worked on defense till he got to Kentucky.

It's fine to want to be the best but I just don't see the point in making these comments about Fultz

"Markelle's a great player, but I feel I'm better than him," said Ball, who led the Bruins to a pair of blowout victories over Fultz's Huskies this season.

"I think I can lead a team better than him," Ball added. "Obviously he's a great scorer -- he's a great player, so I'm not taking that away from him."

Need context. Don't think he'd just bring up Fultz out of nowhere.

Think it was in response to a question by the delectable Cari Champion today. He also said he wants to be the greatest to ever play the game. Doesn't sound like a kid who's lacking confidence or competitive drive to me.

Well, yeah of course he didn't just bring it up out of nowhere haha. Regardless, it's needless to make these specific comments about a fellow prospect, just sounds petty

Having confidence is one thing, having tact is another.. I would have though Lonzo was the type to just keep thoughts like that in his head than verbalize them. I guess I just don't see the point in flaunting that you're better than Player X, just go out there and let your game speak for itself

Prospects have done this before, he vying to be the number 1 pick overall, much to do about nothing.
