Me too, but what is that ? I thought the pendants were made of gold, no? Is that plastic? What's that chemical wash they put it in?
3D wax printer instead of carving by hand, then it's placed in some type of plaster for lost wax casting.
 
I think I get it now. The video didn't show when they poured the gold into the mold
Yeah i wasn't that clear, when the wax is put into the plaster stuff it hardens around the wax then they put it into a kiln to melt and eventually evaporate the wax, they then pour molten gold into the channels that lead to the cavity where the mold was. Thats why when they pull out the gold piece it has a bunch of "bars" attached to the backside of the piece they just cut off and sand down the excess. 
 
What's the advantage of a 3D wax printer over hand sculpting? I remember Ben always took pride in saying his uncle sculpted everything.
