Word. Losing Safety Roy Williams and a couple other players ain't really "an awful lot."

Although I will be the first to admit it was stupid as hell to trade Anthony Henry away. We are right back where we started in 2007 in terms of CB depth. Wegot rid of Pacman and Anthony henry which means Newman/A Rookie will be starting. Newman is always injured prior to the beginning of the season which means tworookies will be starting since we didn't want to pick up Shawn Springs.

And we still have Wade Phillips as a coach.

And to make matters worse, looks like the Jets are trying to steal Miles Austin away from us. Its to the point where not only did he workout for them but he ismeeting the coaches and some front office people tomorrow. Miles Austin is originally from Jersey as well. The Cowboys have the opportunity to match any offerthe Jets give but at the same time I wouldn't mind the 2nd rounder for Austin as I don't see why people are so hyped on a guy who has 5 catches in hiswhole 3 year career. Not to mention its rare that an UDFA suddenly becomes a legit #2 receiver.

With a glut of wide receivers and a 2008 first-round defensive back (Leodis McKelvin) who can return kicks on the roster, the Buffalo Bills are testing thewaters for interest in Roscoe Parrish.

According to a league source, the Bills are shopping Parrish, primarily as an exploratory measure.

Parrish was a second-round pick in the 2005 draft, and he has appeared in 55 of a possible 64 career games. He has served primarily as a kick returner, withonly 1,097 total receiving yards in four NFL seasons. He also has more fumbles (seven) than receiving touchdowns (five).

Signed for three more seasons, Parrish is due to earn base salaries of $1 million in 2009, $1.025 million in 2010, and $1.025 million in 2011.

The Bills currently have nine receivers on the roster: Parrish, Terrell Owens, Lee Evans, Josh Reed, James Hardy, Felton Huggins, Justin Jenkins, SteveJohnson, and C.J. Hawthorne.

AFC & NFC South

Should look something like this:
2009 Opponents

Home: Buffalo, Miami, New England, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Atlanta, Carolina, AFC North (Pittsburgh?)

Away: Buffalo, Miami, New England, Houston, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, AFC West (Chargers?)

Free-agent quarterback Byron Leftwich has agreed to a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a source told ESPN's Michael Smith.

Leftwich's deal is for $7.5 million, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton.

Leftwich, the source indicated to Clayton, will be scheduled to make $2 million this year. He will have a $3.5 million roster bonus in 2010 that has to be paid at the start of the free-agency period. If they pay it, Leftwich could make $5.5 million in 2010.

The Washington ******** and Pittsburgh Steelers also were interested in Leftwich, who joins a depth chart in Tampa that includes Luke McCown, Josh Johnson, and Brian Griese.

Leftwich, 29, a first-round draft pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars out of Marshall in 2003, won a Super Bowl ring last season as a backup with the Steelers.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder has started just eight games since 2006, his last season with the Jaguars. He played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2007.

Leftwich passed for 303 yards with two touchdowns in five appearances with the Steelers last season as Ben Roethlisberger's backup.

He has more than 5 career catches . He has 18 reception 354 yds and 3 tds career. But thats not super impressive the way people talk about him you would thinkhe was at least getting Gaffney numbers.

I think teams like his size and potenial though.

I'm not sure if this rag has any credibility, but...

Falcons Interested In Trading For Gonzalez
The Atlanta Falcons are "seriously considering" trading for veteran Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez, according to our own Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post.

Lombardi reports that the Falcons may be willing to give up their second round draft pick (#55 overall) in order to obtain the services of Gonzalez.

The move makes sense as Justin Peelle, the Falcons top tight end target from 2008, caught only 15 passes for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns in 16 games last season.

Meanwhile, Gonzalez is coming off another Pro Bowl season in which he hauled in 96 receptions for 1,058 yards and 10 touchdowns.

More on this story as it develops.

i think the jets face the 2008 season 3rd place teams from the AFCN and AFCW since they placed 3rd last season in the AFCE.

so the jets probably face the bengals at home and the raiders away.

Getting Gonzalez would be a good move for Falcons, he'd be a nice security blanket for "Matty Ice"

James Harrison DealIs Done
Posted by Mike Florio on April 13, 2009, 11:47 a.m. EDT

The Steelers have re-signed linebacker James Harrison , Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

It's a six-year, $51.75 million contract, perBouchette.

Harrison also will receive $20 million in "bonus money." It's unclear whether this means that the "bonus money" is guaranteed.

On one hand, it's a solid deal for a guy who wasn't drafted and who bounced between the Steelers and Ravens before becoming a force in 2007, and theAP defensive player of the year in 2008.

On the other hand, the "bonus money" pales in comparison to contracts paid to pass-rushers like Jared Allen and Dwight Freeney , who each received at least $30 million guaranteed.

Though Harrison will turn 31 next month, he has low mileage on the tires, and several good years left. Despite any arguments that Harrison or his agent,Bill Parise, might make in support of the contract that replaces the final year of Harrison's prior contract (at a base salary of $1.4 million in 2009),look for rival agents to explain the deal away as the product of an agent who currently has - and who very well might continue to have - only one client.

Seriously, that's it. Per NFLPA record, Parise has only one client - James Harrison. We're frankly amazed that other agents haven't beentrying to pry him away. If they do it now, they won't get paid until Harrison's new deal is renegotiated.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin may get his wish to be traded. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Wednesday the team is willing to listen to offers.

Boldin

Boldin has asked to be traded since last season after teammate Larry Fitzgerald received a four-year, $40 million contract. Boldin has two years remaining on the six-year, $33.99 million deal he signed in 2005. Though the team wants to give him an extension, the Cardinals aren't expected to give him a Fitzgerald-type deal.

Whisenhunt, speaking to Arizona reporters Wednesday, opened the door for the team to receive trade offers.

Check out the top highlights of Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin from 2008.
"Before the draft, you know there is going to be talk about Anquan and his situation and a trade," Whisenhunt said. "Since not a whole lot has changed with his contractual situation, we know that will come back. It would be foolish from out standpoint not to listen to those opportunities and see what actually exists. But I want to make the points -- our goal is to re-sign him to a long-term deal. That hasn't changed."
Boldin continues to bring up the idea of a trade. With contract talks at a standstill, the Cardinals can listen to offers before the draft. The Eagles and Giants might be at the top of the list.

Boldin is considered a No. 1 wide receiver so it could cost a No. 1 and No. 3 draft choice to acquire him.
