To Soon. Sony is following the same blueprint they did leading up to the PS4 release.
It's been leaked and pretty much confirmed by a insider on Resetera that they are going to do a invite only media event in Feb with more details and then they will be @ E3 2020 and then show off the final console and DS5 design and launch price and date.

I don't think so. The PS3 was a failure at launch because it was that high. Besides, these console companies always operate at a lost and depend on games and accessories to turn profit.

My guess would be $499 as well.
Any higher and they'll start to risk losing more serious console gamers to PC builds.
Could see a base at $399 and then an upgraded storage version at $499.
