The Official Public Transportation Thread...

I was in Montreal two months ago and rode on their Metro. The stations are pretty spacious for the most part.

"Recent concerns about safety have caused subway riders to once again change their behavior. Some do not take the train after a certain hour or allow children and visiting relatives to travel alone. Others switch cars to avoid menacing passengers."

"New Yorkers regularly encounter agitated people on the subway who yell and threaten other passengers. The city is struggling to cope with a growing homeless population, many of whom have mental health issues. Some of those people end up in the subway."

San Francisco has the same issue :smh: I rarely take public transportation, but the few times I do, I immediately get off the train or wait for the next train if I see some mentally ill person screaming or talking to himself. I'm not scared of most people, but these types of people have nothing to lose, so who knows what they'd do? Just a few weeks ago, I heard some homeless dude screaming "I'M GOING TO RIP YOUR @#$@$@ FACE OFF!" to people walking past him.

It's hard to tell people to use public transportation in this country when you have to deal with criminals and the mentally ill. I've never experienced anything like this in any other comparable country I've been to

Didn’t know this thread existed. Here’s a pic I took of the subway. I utilize public transpo as often as I can especially within the city.

When I visited NY a couple of years ago, rode the subway for the first time. No complaints, no crazy people, just really hot and humid down there.
