wow youre like one of the only dudes in this thread that know what theyre talkin about.

good recommendations.

i havent seen all of them, but based on the quality of the ones that i do know, im gonna pick a few out. Out of these, which one do you think's the best:

The Pope of Greenwich Village
Rosemary's Baby
Insomnia
3:10 to Yuma

I watched 3:10 to Yuma a few weeks ago I thought it was ok; everyone I watched it with found a ton of plausibility errors in the plot. I have to re-watch it.

SHill- I haven't watched it. Been meaning to see it. I have seen Rome: Open City, Paisan, La Strada, and of course La Dolce Vita.

What is your favorite foreign film?

To add to those lists,

French,
Un Prophete.

Italian,
Gomorrah

Modern day classics. Although Gomorrah is a little drawn out, so if you dont have a good attention span, just skip it.

Nosferatu
La Strada's been in my Netflix Queue for ages. Need to check it out.
Picked out a book w/ a list of 1000 movies at the library a while back. Lot's of great recommendations.

Noskey: Is Gomorrah  really terrible?

eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

The Pope of Greenwich Village is a personal favorite because I'm a Mickey Rourke guy, and Eric Roberts was great in that film, but Rosemary's Baby is a much better film overall. I also forgot to add Drugstore Cowboy to my list, along with Mean Streets and Double Indemnity, if you're trying to go with an early classic.

All the Lynch movies are great recommendations, also Erasherhead by Lynch. Swingers is also a great recommendation and one of my favorite comedies of all time. So money.

Just seen Mississippi Burning (1988) last night and I thought it was great.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095647/

Few movies I would recommend, not sure if they were posted as I did not go through the whole thread

The Usual Suspects
Reservoir dogs
Schindler's list
Hard Candy
American History X
Snatch
Suicide Virgins
Apocalypto
Escape from Alcatraz (1979)

International films
Sin Nombre
The Stoning of Soroya M.
Martyr's
Ajami
Antichrist

Gonna go ahead and add "Miller's Crossing" to the list. Instantly one of my favorites from the Coen brothers.
