*The Official SEC FOOTBALL* Season Report

Ive wanted him gone for a while now. I could care less if he wins the Sugar Bowl this year. It's time for him to go.

Gunna...where'd you pull that list from? You got a link to a UGA list, by any chance?

Good stuff.

Here's a list of the 10 wildest moments in the SEC this year. Comes out of the Atlanta paper, but they attribute it to Lundquist and Danielson. (I mentionthat only because #1 probably belongs a little lower on the list...but still, what a fun year.)

1. Georgia storms the end zone against Florida, Oct. 27 in Jacksonville:
Georgia coach Mark Richt said he wanted something to get the juices flowing for his team. So when Knowshon Moreno scored the game's first touchdown, the entire Georgia bench emptied into the end zone. Florida was knocked back on its heels, physically and emotionally, and never recovered. Georgia won 42-30 and began the run to a 10-2 season.

"I thought it was a totally brilliant strategy," Danielson said. "In one swoop, Mark Richt established Georgia-Florida as a rivalry game again and showed the fans that he could compete against Urban Meyer. Was it a little edgy? Was it a little dangerous? Yep. But it worked."

---------

2. McFadden goes hog wild against LSU, Nov. 23 in Baton Rouge:

It probably cost the SEC a shot at the national championship, but no one will forget Darren McFadden's heroics when unranked Arkansas stunned No.1 LSU 50-48 in triple overtime. McFadden ran for 206 yards and three touchdowns and passed for another out of the "Wild Hog" formation. That game may have won McFadden the Heisman Trophy.

"I will always remember that as the night McFadden put himself right back in the race for the Heisman Trophy," said Lundquist. "He just put that team on his back and carried them."

---------

3. Tennessee beats Kentucky 52-50 in 4 OT, Nov. 24 in Lexington:

The day after LSU and Arkansas went three overtimes, Tennessee watched a 31-14 lead disappear in the second half and needed four overtimes to beat Kentucky 52-50 in Lexington. The win sent Tennessee to Saturday's SEC championship game against LSU with a team that was given up for dead after it lost 41-17 at Alabama on Oct. 20.

"Gary and I were at Florida-Florida State, but even down there you could feel the drama of that game as it unfolded," Lundquist said.

---------

4. Kentucky beats No. 1 LSU in 3 OT, Oct. 13 in Lexington:

After scoring with about a minute left to beat Florida the week before in Baton Rouge, LSU was trying to escape with another close victory at Kentucky. The Wildcats rallied from 27-13 to take a 43-37 lead in the third overtime. LSU faced a fourth down and 2 yards to go to keep its drive alive. Running back Charles Scott was stopped after gaining only 1 yard by linebacker Braxton Kelley of LaGrange and the Wildcats had posted what many are calling the biggest win in the history of the school.

"The week before against Florida, LSU had lived by the fourth-down play, going 5-for-5," Danielson said. "On that night they died by it."

---------

5. Auburn's Byrum beats Florida twice, Sept. 29 in Gainesville, Fla.:

Florida had won 18 straight games in "The Swamp" and some fans were looking ahead to LSU the following week. But Auburn had other plans. Florida rallied from a 17-3 deficit to tie the game, but the Tigers took possession with 3:38 left. Freshman kicker Wes Byrum lined up for the 43-yard field goal with only seconds left. Just a heartbeat before Byrum kicked the ball, Florida's Urban Meyer called time out. The kick was good but did not count. Unfazed, Byrum made the field goal again to beat the Gators 20-17.

"I will always remember Urban Meyer's timeout and wondering if Byrum could kick it again," Lundquist said. "But he nailed it and then ran down the field doing the Gator chop."

---------

6. LSU escapes at Alabama, 41-34, Nov. 3 in Tuscaloosa:

Over 92,000 packed into Bryant-Denny Stadium and at least another 30,000 fans without tickets came to Tuscaloosa to see Nick Saban coach against his old school. Many of them were LSU fans who came just to see Saban and his $4 million salary get their butts kicked. Alabama led 34-27 with 7:33 left but LSU scored on a 32-yard touchdown catch by Early Doucet to tie the game. Then Alabama QB John Parker Wilson fumbled, giving LSU the ball at the Crimson Tide 3-yard line and setting up the winning score.

"It was one of the most tension-packed games I've ever done," Danielson said. "It was a perfect example of why I don't believe in the word 'momentum.' If any team ever had all the juice in a game it was Alabama. But LSU still came back to win and Alabama showed it was a flawed team."

---------

7. Les Miles gambles to beat Florida, Oct. 6 in Baton Rouge:

The week after losing to Auburn at home, Florida played LSU toe to toe in Baton Rouge, where there were 92,910 inside Tiger Stadium and another 50,000 in the parking lot because they wanted to be a part of the day. Five times Miles gambled on fourth down and five times LSU made the yardage. LSU drove 60 yards on 14 plays and scored with only 1:09 left to win 28-24.

With 7:49 left in the third quarter, word came that Stanford had upset No. 1 Southern Cal, meaning that LSU would be No. 1 the next day.

"There was no backing up by either team in that game. It was one of the most vicious hitting games I've ever seen," Danielson said. "[LSU defensive end] Tyson Jackson said later that after a while it wasn't about football any more. It was man on man."

---------

8. Georgia is back in black, Nov. 10 in Athens:

In the week leading up to the Auburn game, there were rumors that Georgia would come out in black jerseys for the first time. But the Bulldogs warmed up in their traditional red and then the captains came out for the coin toss wearing red. But when the entire Georgia team took the field, the Bulldogs had switched to black jerseys. It was one of the most high-energy atmospheres ever in Sanford Stadium, and Auburn never had a chance as the Bulldogs dominated 45-20.

"I loved the fact that Mark Richt told the seniors last August that he might do it," Lund-

quist said. "I loved the fact that when the Georgia team took the field, Uga was out there rolling around in his own black jersey."

---------

9. LSU beats Auburn with one second left, Oct. 20 in Baton Rouge:

Trailing 24-23 with only seconds left and facing a third-and-8 at the Auburn 22-yard line, the whole world assumed LSU would play for the field goal and the win. But offensive coordinator Gary Crowton called, and head coach Les Miles approved, a pass into the end zone that was caught by Demetrius Byrd with only one second left. If the ball is bobbled and then dropped, the clock runs out. But LSU won 30-24 and continued its march back to No. 1.

"Unbelievable call. Unbelievable catch," Danielson said.

---------

10. LSU's fake field goal against South Carolina, Sept. 22 in Baton Rouge:

This was memorable just for the look on Steve Spurrier's face after it happened. LSU was clinging to a 14-7 lead when the Tigers lined up for a 39-yard field goal in the second quarter. Quarterback Matt Flynn, the holder, took the snap and just flipped the ball over his shoulder to kicker Colt David, who ran untouched into the end zone. South Carolina never recovered and LSU won 28-16.

"That was a fun play," Danielson said. "And the look on Spurrier's face said it all."

Dude is swoll as @#%# (pause)

Cause, take someone like Trindon Holiday....he is 5-5 160

I'm surprised that the coaches recognized my boy DJ, he was ballin out this year.

Harvin and Hall should have been 1st team, that's a travesty right there. McKinley and Earl?? interesting selection. Granted he was hurt, but i remembertelling truth that there was no way his boy Bubba was getting on that team.

okay you're acting like everyone doesn't know that. Yeah Mayo played his*+%* off this year. Goff wasn't even our best LB this year. Thatwas Buggs by far.

O , I was just rubbing it in, ya know being a bastard.

cuz you was all heated when I didnt mention him for top Pro prospects

dixon or ducre? both had pretty good years. i'm more excited that we had a freshman playing at quarterback for most of the year.

Wesley Carrol is Very Very Good . I was shocked at how well he played, He had one decent option at WR and thats it. If Croom can find some help for him, itsgonna be real interesting and I think, at worst, we culd be looking at the 3rd best team in the SEC west

8 games? They haven't been bowl-eligible since 82. What type of bet is that?
