Isabelle Tomatis PlayStation VR, Peripherals Marketing and Licensing, SIE

In our June Future of Gaming digital event, we announced an array of PlayStation 5 peripherals and accessories that will be launching this holiday season. But we know that many of you were also wondering if and how existing PlayStation 4 peripherals are compatible with the next-gen system. Today, we’re happy to share a brief FAQ that will answer some of your questions.
If you have questions that aren’t addressed, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Which existing PS4 peripherals/accessories will work on PS5?
  • Specialty peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games.
  • The Platinum and Gold Wireless Headsets, as well as third-party headsets that connect via USB port or audio jack, will work on PS5 (the headset companion app is not compatible with PS5).
  • The DualShock 4 wireless controller and PlayStation officially licensed third-party gamepad controllers will work with supported PS4 games.
  • Both the PS Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will work with supported PS VR games on PS5.
Please note, not all PlayStation officially licensed or third-party peripherals/accessories may work on PS5. We recommend checking with the manufacturer to confirm whether a product will work on PS5 and specific titles.

Will DualShock 4 work with PS5 games?

No, we believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller.

Is the PlayStation Camera for PS4 compatible with PS5?

Yes, PlayStation Camera will work with PS5 for playing supported PS VR games. It will require a PlayStation Camera adaptor that will be provided at no additional cost to PS VR users. More details on how to get the adaptor will be announced at a later date.
And that’s it! We’ll continue to provide updates on PlayStation 5 down the road, so make sure to check back soon.

Never had this problem before, but with Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, I'm struggling with motion sickness.

With Part II, I widened the FOV and turned down motion blur, and that took care of the issue.

With Ghost, it's getting to me even worse. I'm queasy almost immediately. The FOV in interiors is especially tough. They don't have all the options like Part II. I just turned down the camera speed, but it's not helping much. I might hold off on playing it until they talk about any PS5 enhancements. 60 fps should help.

Had that same issue with Uncharted back in the day. Take some non drowsy dramamine. It'll go away

It’s never been a better time to be a spider-fan! The team at Crystal Dynamics, along with our partners, are overjoyed that we get to be a part of this hero’s gaming journey. We can’t wait for you to add Spider-Man to your Marvel’s Avengers roster in early 2021, and as we’ve promised before, he will be available at no additional cost to owners of the base game, exclusively on PlayStation.

About to read comments on the internet.
People are going to be mad. :lol

Didn't take long

its funny because there have been rumors that its not JUST spider-man, but actually insomniac's spider-man

its funny seeing non-ps owners think they're entitled to that

It's CD's own take according to the PS Blog.

Cyrstal Dynamics will get the same heat they did when Tomb Raider was exclusive to Xbone.
I feel a bit for the devs who will defo get some abuse.

Yea this is definitely the most discussion this game has received.

Rumours are saying we might see more Sony X Square Enix collaborations soon.

Project Athia
Avengers - Spider-Man DLC

I wonder what's next.

Insomniac Spider-Man is joining The Avengers? Sweet. Curious if this game is within the same universe.

Spider-Man has increased my interest in the game now lol

Why havent the prices come out yet? Arent the consoles coming out in 3 months or so?

Honestly I think that's kind of foul. If it's not Insomniac's Spider-Man why not put him on all platforms? I also don't think you can do anything "meaningful" with him as you wouldn't want to alienate the rest of your players from being able to play something significant. Exclusive games don't bother me but excluding content is not cool, imo. unless you're giving other platforms some exclusivity. I thought it was dope when Soul Calibur II put Link in the Gamecube version, that Tekken dude in the PS2 version, and Spawn in the Xbox version.

Brb, I gotta go check out the meltdown thread on ERA

So PS4 Gold headsets can be used on the PS5? I’m glad about that. Even though the battery life isn’t that great it’s one of the comfiest headsets out there and it’s good at what it does at that price range

It’s been like this throughout the generation. Sony stepped into help fund FF Versus 13/XV because SE had gone insanely over budget and needed to figure out how to get the game out and recoup something.

I guarantee the next mainline FF will be at minimum a timed exclusive.

Final Fantasy belongs on PlayStation. I've always felt that way. Now if we can get an old school 16 bit FF game, I'd say put it on Nintendo.

Never knew Sony stepped in like that. That's huge.

Yea rumours I'd seen said FF but I thought nah can't be that. Must be something like Nier Automata.

I don't even mind if it were multi plat. I just want SE to take full advantage of the SSD.

The reactions on the other hand though.
I remember when XIII was announced for the 360 back in 08 and people were not happy.

I was pissed because I thought DVDs would hold the game back
