I watched that "Can we live forever" documentary on Netflix
First of all I suggest everyone takes a look at it, its pretty crazy.
They're learning how to create organs like hearts, lungs, etc. Talking about manipulating a certain gene we all have that lets our body live longer. And then even more impressively an Avatar that lets our memories and thoughts live on forever in a digital world where dead people can walk about and communicate with eachother while being able to communicate with the real world. The dude creating this was motivated to do what was done in the movie Avatar.
Now, I think this whole avatar world would be absolutely sick and I hope this can get figured out by the time I die. But with the creating organs and genes to live forever I have a question. They're talking about we can just replace organs whenever needed for as long as needed. Having visions of markets with hearts, livers, lungs, or whatever in jars ready to be bought and used. They said in the documentary this isnt decades away, this is years away. Theyve been on this for a whole now.
Can this work? Like do you think the government would ever let this happen? No body dying? There would be over-population issues and what not. I dont see us being able to do this until we have places to expand our species in space to other planets where there's more room. But they're talking about this like yea we're going to be doing this soon.
Seriously doe, this Avatar world better exist before I die. Im alll for dat.
Edit: I found the documentary on youtube. its on page 2
