I’m glad you asked because I was definitely thinking the same thing. Like this would have been one of those times where I was cool with a delay

Well damn!

I want to play Silent Hill 2 and Dragon Age and then save Metaphor for Christmas Break.

Post your thoughts in here when you do. I tried the demo, but don't think I gave it a fair shake.

Actually I know I didn't because I don't think I even made it into combat.

I get it. The demo doesn't promote you fighting before the first town. I'm actually restarting the demo just to fight and play the battle system.

Yea, maybe I should redownload the demo. Canadian Thanksgiving this wekend so I should be able to find some time.

Shin Megami x Persona

Game is a 10/10 for me. Battle System is punishing but fair.
This is a fair and accurate statement.

I say this game is what Final Fantasy fans have been clamoring for in Square to go back to a turn base system. Definitely view it as Atlas' take on the old school fantasy tropes, but bringing it into the modern age. Crazy, if someone would've told me Atlus would surpass Square and Enix as one entity (Square Enix) back in the 90s, I would've told them you're crazy and kill yourself.

Look at us now lol

It’s funny cause I was thinking about this yesterday. I don’t know how far along they are with FF XVII but I would not be surprised if it turned out to be turn based given the success Atlus has had. I feel like they went away from it because there was a narrative that people didn’t want turned based games anymore and as far as AAA JRPGs were concerned, that was probably true during the PS360 gen. I personally enjoyed Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey but I can’t really think of any turned based JRPGs that were super successful during that gen.

Alright, between everyone's early opinions and seeing this posted about Metaphor:
  • Amazing customization options. There's a full on classic Final Fantasy-esque job system in the form of Archetypes, which can be freely assigned to every playable character, you have the freedom to customize any build you want for any of the party members. There's around 35-40 archetypes
Redownloading the demo now.

I saw you playing. Did you get a better feel for it?

Yes, it's actually great.

What a weird intro to have it end up being so good. Originally, I'm pretty sure I was put-off by continually dying to the sand-snakes at the beginning, not understanding I was just supposed to avoid them. The combat is relatively fresh and the story is pretty interesting so far.

I'm currently at the entrance to the mine and plan to finish the demo tonight. I will definitely be picking this up, but at $93.99 Canadian currently, I am going to wait until December to see if I can get 10-15% off. I have Langrisser I & II, Vampire Survivor, and Chernoblyte on the go right now, with FF IX and GoW:R on deck.

I appreciate the feedback on Metaphor from everyone in here. I would have probably bypassed it otherwise.

Welp, got a $100 Playstation store gift card for a donation prize, so seems like it was meant to be.

Interestingly trophies from Metaphor's demo didn't pop and aren't retroactive if you load your save. So a good reason to restart anyway.

I read online somewhere they will unlock after you complete the first dungeon.

Thanks, I jus saw that as well and came to post.

Apparently I missed a few things in the demo so I am going to replay anyway.
