Crazy.

Im sure there's many reasons for this but one reason I think is that social media has exposed the younger generation to a lot of other genres and music.

If you look at trending songs on tiktok, its always rock or rnb songs from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Music gen z and younger haven't heard of before like radiohead.

One of the biggest trending songs right now on tiktok is a Japanese rock song from 2009 called "Aoi, Koi, Daidaiiro No Hi"

And if its not those, its new indie rock like sombr or just pop songs in general

Its all tswift bruh her whole album in the top 40. Plus all the relevant rappers that are making a buzz right now is for us old dudes. Real hip hop having a mini renaissance, kids ain't trying to hear that unless it's a diss.
I wonder if guitar hero/rock band would do numbers introducing the new gens to different songs and artist like it did for us 15+ years ago.

Record labels. They're not going to step on their own toes. After Taylor's run is over, rap albums gonna start dropping left and right.

So my job actually kinda does it big for Halloween. Its a contest. the winning department gets lunch catered. So my department did the 20s..which is probably gonna be pretty popular this year anyway. Anyway, we sitting here looking up 20s slang. Im about to start using some of these. When you're going to the restroom, you tell people you're "going to iron your shoelaces". Im keeping that ****. Women are "tomatoes". So, Im going to iron my shoe laces, then go check on my tomatoes.

No, I'm not Smoke nor Stack. Close tho.
