Crazy.
Im sure there's many reasons for this but one reason I think is that social media has exposed the younger generation to a lot of other genres and music.
If you look at trending songs on tiktok, its always rock or rnb songs from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Music gen z and younger haven't heard of before like radiohead.
One of the biggest trending songs right now on tiktok is a Japanese rock song from 2009 called "Aoi, Koi, Daidaiiro No Hi"
And if its not those, its new indie rock like sombr or just pop songs in general
I wonder if guitar hero/rock band would do numbers introducing the new gens to different songs and artist like it did for us 15+ years ago.Its all tswift bruh her whole album in the top 40. Plus all the relevant rappers that are making a buzz right now is for us old dudes. Real hip hop having a mini renaissance, kids ain't trying to hear that unless it's a diss.

SD card slots and headphone jack sure, but people stopped utilizing that cd/dvd drive on laptops especially a lot of companies. Most times added to the weight and the startup
