@Colombia Damn man. I'm so sorry to hear that. If it's his time to go, hopefully it will be painless for him. I know you and your family did all you can do, but hopefully you won't harbor any anger for the decisions that he made that led him to the inevitable.
Me and my family is going through something similar. My brother's dad Clem, who is the father figure in my life, is having health issues. It basically started a couple months ago. He has been enjoying retirement after working for the VA for over 30 years. Suddenly one day he fell and hit his head on the concrete while playing with my nephew and niece. After he went to the hospital and tests were ran, it turns out that his body was low of some nutrients. He had been feeling weak for a while and didn't tell anyone. The doctor told him to stop drinking beer until his levels were back to satisfactory results. He was doing good for a while until a week ago. He was complaining that he was feeling weak except for when he is seated. He was so weak that he was not able to pick up my 2 year old niece and she is not heavy at all.
Me, Mom, and brother all told him that he seriously needs to cut the beer out of his life and go back to the hospital for more test or else he won't be here for much longer. Clem is hard-headed and always complain that people try to tell him what to do. it's to the point that my mom told my brother to talk to Clem and make sure that his affairs are in order so that if the time comes, there won't be any fighting amongst the Johnson's when it comes to his life insurance.
