The idea behind the rule is that there's a power discrepancy between the patient and the nurse. The patient is vulnerable and is dependent on the nurse, and this makes it more likely for the patient to be wrongfully influenced, manipulated and coerced.

The nurse is also liable to maintain a professional relationship at all times. Because any change in that relationship could alter a nurse's professional judgment and affect a patient's care. Any crossing of professional boundaries is liable to revoke the nurse's license.

It's just the way it is. Say you're working the ER and your wife gets admitted to the ER. There's no way any hospital would let you take your wife in as a patient. She will always go to another nurse.
I get all of that, thats why I pointed out sound mind meaning they both realized their positions at that moment and moving forward. I was also speaking if neither party had a prior relation to each other which is why I wont speak on your wife example. Me and her would be ******* before that. But while rehabbing and if me and a nurse fall for each other and become an item I just dont see a problem. Especially if I completely recover afterwards

Is it weird that my mom is remarrying and decided to make the wedding on my birthday, found a venue in my town, and called to tell me all about it and how she's changing her last name?

I'm not mad, just kind of confused...

Man glad i was tanning on the weekend. Solid story with pics...feels like the old NT

But yeah i am still of thought that humans aren't really monogamous and that it a social construct. You basically find a good mate to have children with. A good mental companion that you know will raise your children right that has a good support system and can set your future generations up for success. Now that has nothing to do with animalistic instincts to smash bad chicks. You got a day one that you know can hold you down but cheating is so frowned upon (imo) because society "thinks" its wrong. But it is not wrong in human nature

Are you talking from experience? Are you in such a relationship right now? Aye bro, just know you'll be costing her job if her employer finds out. Lol

It's not illegal to pursue a relationship afterwards. Just during treatment, it just can't happen legally speaking. Saying you're of sound mind doesn't hold up in a court of law if something goes wrong with your care and you get hurt.

If my mom did that to me, it'd rub me the wrong way. Sounds like you're kinda taking it well though lol
That's all I can do. Our relationship is kind of shot to begin with.

I just let her do her thing, nod my head when she tells me these things, then go back to living my life. Too old to be going back-and-forth with her.

So are you going to the wedding? Lol

I too would be confused. If I was in your position, I would call her out and question her.

If she didn't change the date, I'd act just like Will Ferrell in Step Brothers at his mom's wedding.

Bruh how old are you. Why would you call the new guy dad. You aren’t 4 years old.

Fortunately it's some BS courthouse wedding on a Tuesday. I'm probably gonna be working that day. Not taking the day off when she gave me so little notice.

She also asked that I start calling her new husband "dad."

Whut.

Are we already making plans for the NT's 20th anniversary next year?

we have to do it real big, somewhere foreign?

I'm 30.

In all fairness, he's been in my life longer than my biological father has...but he's not my dad. Especially not this late in the game.

It's either my mom is intentionally attempting to push my buttons or she's just that socially stupid. Neither would surprise me.
