the thread about nothing...

That one guy on Shark Tank said he doesn't even have a car and uses Uber instead. Not sure if srs but doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Honestly it’s not a bad idea,
You push all the responsibilities to the driver for maintaince, insurance and gas. When you add it all up using the service can actually save you money.

The only downside you don’t have your own privacy or mobility to immediately to get thangs done if own your car.

Thier are tradeoffs but it depends on your lifestyle if your willing to sacrifice not having your own car and relying on Uber/Lyft

A part of me can't wait to move to Brooklyn so I can sell my Jeep and get rid of the payments/insurance, but a part of me loves driving.

Would honestly consider a home healthcare/case management type job if they let me have a company car.

Its time I get another car warranty, this **** is ridiculous

What did the mechanic say needed replacement?

Bad idea. My sister doesn’t drive and uses Uber for everything. It’s actually cheaper to buy a car despite buying gas, insurance, minor maintenance. She looking to get something in the $3500 price range. My bro and I can help her out with car maintenance.

Aren't you in LA? You pretty much need a car to live out there. It's not like other places where you can rely on public transportation for the bulk of your commuting to work.

dude probably travels all the time. his car would just be sitting at home collecting dust
if you buy an affordable car, then it'll probably be cheaper when you do need to drive. it all depends on the city and what your limits are

I had a car in nyc but I commuted bus and train most of the time to work.

It’s great to have, but nyc insurance is crazy high compared to nyc.

Yeah, I’m in LA. We have decent bus schedules but my sister isn’t about that life since she has 2 kids under the age of 12. A car is so important out here it’s scary how dependent we are on them. Like my dad told me “you don’t have a car, you don’t have legs out here”

People are going to act a fool and mistreat your car. Wouldn't recommend it unless you do not care about your car and rather have the money.
Just throwing the idea around, don’t have to go with it. But yeah if your have a mid-range car beater car it will reap, but if you have expensive flex car you charge a stupid high premium and still reap.

That how cats flex in Miami in lambo, Ferrari’s, it’s rented.

Yeah no thanks.

My car is worth about ~$35K at the present moment and I babied it with that in mind. Not about to let someone make it their beater in a city where fender benders and scrapes are a part of everyday life.

Also not too sure how many city cats want to drive around a 6-speed Wrangler.

I had two cars. I got sick and tired of maintaining them, driving in the Bay Area and unnecessary expenses that comes along with it. So I sold both and got a beater just to run errands, go to the gym or just regular hanging out. Then my dad decided he doesn't want to drive anymore and gave me his car (I tried paying him back for it but he wouldn't take it), I want to sell it but I know he doesn't want me to so Im forced to keep it. sigh...

The younger kids will post immature comments like "YNS", but I would still have at least a beater to run to the grocery store and whatnot.

I live in DuPont Circle, everything I possibly need is less than 4 blocks away, why do I need to park my Tesla on the street lol?

Starter and the gears on my turbo that holds the belt. **** was a 1000 dollars. I take care great care of it and service hasn't required me to pay more than 300 the last 3 and half years. Its my favorite practical car and has been since the G1 Transformers premiered and with Chevy killing the line I'm not trying to get rid of it
