the thread about nothing...

NYC folks

Taking the princess to NYC for a day trip, tomorrow.

Any recommendations for a good breakfast spot near LGA airport?

Heard Buccaneer’s Diner is good?

Also, she loves Ramen or Asian cuisine - any particular spot in Chinatown?

Been awhile since I been in NYC.

*Bonus* Any dope thrift shops? @picasso swerve

Check out Ichiran for ramen.

They have 3 locations in NYC. They are a famous chain in Japan and worth going to at least once.

You can remove the side window so you and your daughter can sit next to each other. They also have tables I believe.

Idk if we got any Houston TANners but, who do yall think the “Hometown Hero” is? Z-ro, Trae or Mattress Mack?

To be clear, in my case this multi-hour presentation and questioning infront of a jury panel was not for a job interview. It's just part of the application for an education program, that's what baffles me so much. This whole process was far more rigorous than any job interview I've ever had. The organization that provides it does have a very high standing here amongst employers despite not being at the level of a college/university degree, I guess in part because their application process is so thorough and strict.
University here has no application standards, which I think is different from how US universities work. You can slack your way through highschool with the absolute worst possible grades and still go to the best university and pursue whatever degree you want, no questions asked. Of course you'll be strongly advised to not do so because the passing rates are pretty abysmal for lower level highschool degrees but at the end of the day the only requirement is tuition.

well not sure but that was one of the reasons why I considered moving to your part of Europe and could still be considering it if certain unfavorable things happen here. I have seen and watch certain documentaries that despite the educational methodology that part of Europe nations practice, it is baffling that it does produce way better results that we get here in North America. the play aspect seems to get more students motivated to do better and well in school as compared to what the standards are here in North America. I guess the problem we have here is that education is more of a business rather than trying to help the individual to do better in life. number of students cant even afford to go to Ivy League schools or some even get broke even before stepping in the universities. women in particular have resorted to escorting/gf to sugar daddies just to afford the much needed education. personally, I felt regular women have more advantage of going to such universities as opposed to the majority regular joes.

Watching this show on Netflix called Squid Games.. **** is valid.. I'm bugging out :lol :lol Def worth a watch :smokin

Well I can't speak for other European countries but our universities and colleges have truly abysmal passing rates. At one point, the passing rate for students with certain types of highschool degrees (hairdressing, farming, construction) was around 5%, no exaggeration.
Our standard of education is still seen as excellent though internationally though.
It's relatively inexpensive to attend university here, for example the tuition for our 2 best internationally renowned universities (Gent and Leuven) is roughly €900 a year, which is a lot for many people but dirt cheap compared to a lot of other countries. Depending on your finances that can get lowered to around €124/year.
That's only possible due to our extremely high taxes but personally I'm happy it provides so much opportunity. Sure a lot of it goes down the drain as not a whole lot of people end up passing but at least they got the opportunity.

careful now, you might get called a communist by those revelations.
I'm on the same boat. I don't care about high taxes. in North America, you get to pay dirt for taxes and people could still not afford for a lot of things that you guys get. people are still lining up for alms (welfare). call it laziness or no motivation at all. so not sure why a certain American population are so afraid of high taxes or universal health care. what you pay as tuition fee in your university is pretty much transportation allowance for a few months in an Ivy league school.

I dont agree with it...at all...but if we're talking face up only, I can understand an "adjustable 6" mindset.

Below average? Okay.
