Chelsea sign a 300 million Euro deal with Adidas over 10 years. Glad to see them stay with Adidas, although Nike could have been nice

I want Madrid to leave Adidas for Nike so bad. I like the 10/11 third kit & 11/12 home and third kit. That is about it in the last 4 or 5 years.

Is Marcelo a thug?

son just doesn't give a ****.

Yes, him and Pepe be straight gooing

Arteta getting the job done :pimp:

Wenger wants to sign Rooney and Higuain.

Our attack would be absolutely nuts with Fellani possibly coming in as well. :x

Neymar is a way better finisher than robinho. Robinho couldnt finish consistently and thats something we've seen time and time again from neymar

Neymar has been phenomenal so far.

I still won't consider a relatively pointless tournament like this where crazy stuff like the U.S. knocking Spain out of the tournament in the semis happens as a great way of evaluating him, because as I mentioned Adriano who dominated the 2005 Confederations Cup completely fooled me into thinking that he would have a historically good 2006 World Cup before he, along with Brazil disappointed in the tournament and he went on to have a career of a bust in Europe.

Honestly that FK from Neymar wasn't all that special. It was basically a line drive. A keeper of Buffon's level should've saved that easily. Don't know what the hell was going on with Buffon yesterday.

Anytime someone can make a kick like that it's spectacular, Neymar or not. Not to mention it was against a quality side & goal keeper. Not sure how you're so blasé about it but to each his own :rolleyes

 I'll bet you if that was Oscar (given that he plays for Chelsea) you would've called that ish a career defining moment.

I get pretty much all of my news from all of the papers...I scan through the majority of the english papers (Metro, Guardian, Mirror, TalkSport, SkySports) and a few journalists twitter accounts and post what their talking about. Obviously the majority of it is hearsay, but every now and again someone will get it right...

An easy site to get the gist of the media, without having to do much is http://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/ they scan through all of the papers (even Spanish ones).

No. I'd expect any top class player to be able to hit the target on a FK from that short of a distance. That should be automatic.

For even the greatest players, FKs aren't automatic. Like louislagerfeld said, to be able to bend that ball in the corner past a keeper like Buffon is spectacular but I guess it's just ho hum to this younger generation. :D :rolleyes

No it's not.

That's why there are FK specialists.

Not every "top class player" is a FK specialist either. FK specialists also have their own style and preferred type of FK.

For instance, even Ronaldo (Now before you mention closer goals like Ronaldo against Aston Villa where he scored a FK from inside of the box), prefers that he has a certain distance to goal, so he can get the ball to go up and dip again because it suits his style (Bale and Luiz as well). This is why if you watch closely, when the ref is still telling the wall to move back, you can see in certain cases players like Ronaldo rolling the ball back, away from goal.

The point is the FK shown, was a good FK. You can say what you want about Buffon. But I remember Beckham once saying, if you take a good enough freekick, it doesn't matter who the keeper is, he won't stop it.

How you call that free kick "nothing special" is beyond me. he hits a laser perfect accuracy where buffon cant even react in time to save it.

Buffon did have time, and should have saved. He took a false step, and stumbled...which is why he didn't save that FK which a keeper like Buffon should save a majority of the time.

he did a little hop so he could try and see over the line and by the time he recognized where the ball was traveling it was to late
