Replace “race” with “culture” and you’ve got the perspective that ninja comes from. I think it’s a valid view for the most part IF you consider the historical nuances race has played into how cultures have developed and have been conditioned due to those historical nuances. More often then not though , ninja picks and chooses what nuances matter and what dont to fit whatever narrative he believes in. Hence the “who’s latino” conversation that was in the kaep thread. According to him, Haitians aren’t latino because “they mess with West Indian and Caribbean folk” even though Latino is literally only about location and the language the area speaks. You’re not going to have a substantive conversation wholly on race with someone who’s positions on the subject are based on arbitrary cultural cues that he decides has defining value and what doesn’t.

Like I’ve said before there are two qualifiers.
1. Location
2. Language
Jamaicans aren’t latino because their language isn’t based on or derived from a Romance language (ie FRENCH, Portuguese, Spanish etc)

In the politics thread there is a dude who goes by the name of Dwalk. He shares similar political positions with Ninjahood. I once asked Dwalk, a southern born and raised Black man, how does he support Donald Trump even though Trump is a magnificent liar? The southern code is that a man must stand by his word, which is antithetical to what and who Trump actually is. Dwalk stated that he is a republican and a supporter of trump, due to the possibility of financial, material gains.
I'd guess that this is the reward for someone like Ninjahood as well. For people like him, he sees no reward in doing battle with the oppressor, seeing no valid reason to fight against racism, sexism, nor xenophobia due to what he finds comfortable, then living a good life. He sees no reward in fighting for the freedom of people who look like him.
However, if you discuss language with him? It then becomes a different kind of party. Even though within the spanish speaking diaspora, there is an infinite amount of racism, Ninja turns a blind eye to that fact. He claims that there is no racism among spanish speaking people.
That's quite hilarious.

Ninja hoods latino “purity test” is based on arbitrary cultural cues he decides to weigh more heavily than others. For him, what parade they march in is more indicative of what latino means than having a common derived language and region of origin. There’s no arguing with that logic lol

They’re literally on the same island and derive from the same place, and technically Haitians are 2x’s more Latino than Dominicans b/c they incorporate more romance languages.

I'm not even going to go into da fact that unless you respect da fact that I'm Latino then there's really nothing else to talk about as far as what I am, and that goes for Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, etc.

There’s clearly an attempt to tether latino to Hispanic even though Brazilians and the Portuguese are definitely not Hispanic/Spanish speaking. But I’m sure Therese some arbitrary “cultural” reasoning behind why they get a pass and Haitians don’t. But it’s got nothing to do with race ?
