I'm so jealous of you guys. Derek Carr is a superstar. Not only an elite quarterback, but an elite human being as well.

That no-look TD pass to crabs on that smoke-fade combo was so stupid. :Nthat :lol

Good to see Karl Joseph out there. I am a HUGE KJ fan.

You should be a GM @red81. You're great!

Can't get over how good Joseph & James have been. Really think we could've pulled out the Atlanta game if McGill & Heeney were benched a week earlier.

Hyped for the Chargers this week. First division game.
I'm confident but I expect a good game. San Diego has Played good football for 3.5 quarters all year lol.

Grading the Raiders on big win in Baltimore
By Vic Tafur October 3, 2016

Offense

POLITE APPLAUSE The Raiders took the third quarter off; maybe they were resting for a big finish. Michael Crabtree would not be denied in the red zone, and Derek Carr didn’t turn the ball over and has now outplayed Drew Brees, Marcus Mariota and Joe Flacco this season. The running game never got going.

Defense

POLITE APPLAUSE Oakland forced three fumbles, recovering one of them, and sacked Flacco twice. This was the best the pass rush has looked this season, and the Raiders made a stop to win the game for the second week in a row. They were lucky the Ravens didn’t run the ball more, but it’s good to be lucky, too.

Special teams

POLITE APPLAUSE Marquette King pinned the Ravens repeatedly in the first half and then danced, paying homage to Ray Lewis and Cam Newton. Sebastian Janikowski did not dance, nor did he attempt a field goal. Jalen Richard’s 47-yard return set up a TD, and then the Raiders gave up a 60-yarder to set up a field goal. That’s a win.

Coaching

WILD APPLAUSE Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave broke out the no-huddle early and then steered the big finish. Coach Jack Del Rio and defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. fixed the communication issues on the field, and the team is liking it’s new two deep-safeties look. Main thing, players believe in their coaches and vice versa.

Overall

WILD APPLAUSE When the game was over, scout Raleigh McKenzie leaned over to brother and general manager Reggie. “It ain’t pretty … but it’s a beauty,” he said. The Raiders blew a two-score, fourth-quarter lead with some Usain Bolt haste, but Carr was there, ready to lead another game-winning drive. And the Raiders are 3-1.

Man, before we move on to SD I just wanna quickly reflect on the first quarter of football so far this season.

This team has shown it can play a shoot out (NO), a defensive game (Ten) and a grinder game (BLT). That ATL loss ain't lookin so bad now, and we still shoulda won that game too IMO.

i hope the squad is ready to eat this second quarter of the season :hat

Lee Smith - out for the season

Ben Heeney - out for the season

Amari first 4 games this year vs 2015

40TGT 24REC 339YARDS 2TDs

35TGT 20 REC 318YARDS 0TDs

Assuming Lee Smith & Heeney are put on the IR...

I expect the Raiders to promote O'Malley from the practice squad to be the inline TE. Would be interesting if they bought back Reece. Reece can play TE but he can't block like you'd want him to from there (Olawale is prolly closer to Lee Smith than Reece is).

Don't know what they're gunna do at LB to replace Heeney. Bates played well but he'll be attacked/game planed for by every upcoming opponent. I haven't seen Sio play much for the Colts but I'd consider brining him back to replace Heeney as a backup. I'm sure there aren't any better LBers we can sign off the street anyway.

Crab been feasting off a lot of those red zone targets. Walford utilized more plus Jalen and Deandre also in the mix as weapons that just weren't available last year.

Coop been making plays. Maybe not the volume that was expected but he's made big time catches in every game. Also can't forget Coop had that TD against ATL wrongfully disallowed.

not blaming anyone, people been asking where's coop. he out there doing the same thing he was last year.
He is. We just have other playmakers besides Amari moving the chains and scoring points too. Another good problem to have.
