Top 10 Greatest Verses in Hip Hop History

You Missing 2 of the greatest but at least 1 should of made it -----

"Can I Live"

True, this history school us to spend our money foolish

Bond with jewelers and watch for intruders

I stepped it up another level, meditated like a Buddhist

Recruited lieutenants with ludicrous dreams of

Gettin' cream, "let's do this!" It gets te-di-ous

So I keep one eye open like C-B-S

You see me stressed right? Can I live?

Or

"D'Evils"

My flesh, no *%*$@ could test, my soul is possessed

By D'Evils in the form of diamonds and Lexuses

The excesses, got me doing sticks like homie

You don't know me, but the whole world owe me, strip!

Was thought to be a pleasant guy all my @#%$$*# life

So now I'm down for whatever, ain't nothing nice

Jay gotta be somewhere on the list fam he just gotta be no getting around it

I looked at this list and thought the same thing. I mean these verses selected are damn good but no Jay?? D'Evils 2nd verse is one of the best hip verses I have heard period.

where's the first verse to big pun - dream shatterer?

where's the first verse to fredro starr - what if?

pretty solid list nonetheless

VERY nice list.

Glad to see Cap, AZ, Deck, and Nas' on there. Big's from "Victory" was a fave of mine, and not mad at Em's being on there either.

co-sign just because of the inclusion of winter warz and verbal intercourse...

cappa kicked one of the hungriest, hardest verses OAT

And I also agree with the last verse from "One Love", you could tell there was something special about that young man named Nasir when he spit that verse.

Exactly. Plus I always thought AZ's Life's a _ verse was ill.

I COMPLETELY agree with the people who have mentioned:
2-Pac "Me Against the World (3rd verse)
Jay-Z "D'Evils/Can I Live" (Either One)
Out Kast  Aquemeni (3ks last verse)

i'm young so i'm not even gonna give my opinion for yall to just dismiss it (even though it would include aquemini, N_s bleed, and me against the world) but yeah this is the first thought that came to mind

Yeah the ONLY verse post-1999 was Eminem in 2001 and thats IT?

^^^ Doesn't mean their weren't any great verses after '99.

Whoever made that list felt the greatest verses came before that. And most would agree.

I do not agree with the order, but I can not be mad at that list.

*Waits for Drake and Wayne stans to complain*

Order of the list could be switched around a little but that list is pretty damn solid.

Very solid list. I agree with 8 out of the 10 artists on there (not necessarily the verses though most are on point). I'd probably put a Jay verse in Rakim's spot and a Pac verse in Redman's spot. Good to see AZ get his props. It's all personal preference though. Whenever one of these lists comes up I always check for Donna's Winter Warz verse, Deck's Triumph verse, and a verse from Canibus (beast from the east or DJ Clue freestyle).
