yaytonyo - I'm a poli sci major...going into my second year. I didn't like my one econ class with L. Jay Helms last year. Poli Sci is a good major if you're interested enough in the material. It's basically all writing. There are some big time profs too, like Prof. Maoz (international relations). He was the head of the poli sci dept. at Tel Aviv University, and is a long time consultant to the U.S. govt concerning Israeli relations. I think he'll be teaching Pol 3 again this year. He's not the greatest lecturer, but it's a good class. A word to wise, try to avoid Pol 4 (theory) if it's being taught with Plato's Republic and John Rawls Theory of Justice. I never got less than an A in any humanities/social science class in my life until that one. It was interesting, but, basically, sucked. On that note, try to avoid upper division profs teaching lower division courses for their first time (though Maoz should be fine now).
If you have an occupational goal, consider whether or not poli sci is the right path. I'm planning on going into Law, and/or pursuing politcs and maybe business.
