What's good, all?? With the acquisition of the '04 "Playoff" 12 retro, I have finally complete my 1-23 Jordan collection. I have been
collecting jordans for countless years now, but for some reason, there has always been 1 or 2 shoes that has eluded me for some reason. Either that or I sold
shoes, gave them away (don't ask why), etc.
I started with jordans when I was in first grade, back in '86
. That's when it
all began, when my pops bought me the black/red jordan 1s. From there, it was a wrap and since then I've had at least one colorway of every signature
jordan (OG and retro) to date. With the acquisition of the Playoff 12 and the completion of my 1-23 set, this pretty much marks the end of my jordan career.
At this point, I am 29 years old, with a family so I just feel such a relief, like there's a huge weight off my shoulders to be so close to retirement. As
of late, I've had this bad feeling when buying shoes because I can hardly wear them so I know it's essentially a waste of money. The last jordan shoe I
see myself purchasing will be the cool grey spizikes in december of this year. Other than that, with all the quality issues, wacky/variant colorways,
overpriced packs, and limited releases I am so glad this wonderful, yet crazy journey is so close to being over.
Maybe if JB retros certain shoes (infrareds, bordeaux 7s, etc.) I will make a return just for those classics, but other than that I'm officially done with
jordan. There are a few choice that are definitely on my still-have-to-cop list (eggplant foams, penny foams, griffeys in '09, barkleys in '09) and
once those are copped I will be completely done with sneakers altogether.
