I know about the Kidnappings. I lived there as well as Hawaii. The Kidnappings in T&T is not random at all though. It's all tied in with big time business men and their drug deals going bad.

Trinidad is paradise fam, you're wylin.

My cousins refuse to leave the island and laugh at our living standards in the US. I went down there for Xmas and a whole block in Chaganus had bowtied Audi A4s in the driveway. Oil money is circulating lovely down there.

Of course there are some tough hoods up north (Laventeile) and poor rural areas but the majority of crimes are isolated to gang members and individuals involved in the drug trade.

I just had family leave some cush living in Palm Beach and move back to Jamaica.  Them just open up a small casino and hotel so it'll be interesting to see how this affects their business.

Trinidad is a paradise but the crime wave that has been happening the last couple of years is nothing to be slighted and at times can be quite random

Hell I had a cousin robbed at gunpoint for his clothes and sneakers taking a maxi taxi home from work, thank goodness he ended up escaping that situation with his life

Haven't been but out of all my West Indians heads the Trini's are the most guapped up usually.  Hilarious when they get bullied for that reason though

I arrived on Fri from Mia. City is currently in a state of emergency officially today with a 6pm curfew. They burnt down an inner city police station earlier today and I just got word now that 3 police vehicles have been stolen and to be on the look out for the tag #. 

What a vacation!!
