Gohan at his 'Mystic' level is stronger than almost every character in DBZ.

You can't be serious. Mystic Gohan isn't THAT strong. He's pretty much a half level higher than SSJ2. Maybe even an "ascended" SSJ2. 
Majin Vageta would go toe to toe with Mystic Gohan. 

And once you talk about SSJ3 and up, Gohan isn't even in Discussion. 

As for Goku and Vegeta, neither of them really killed many real villains. Goku only technically killed Buu, and Vegeta killed off the first fat android. 

Trunks killed Freeza and Gohan killed cell. So all in all, Goku and Vegeta are in the same boat. 

Vegeta has way more bodies under his belt than Goku, so Vegeta is more badass.

Vegeta > Goku

But Trunks > both of them.

I really didn't get into the show that much until late in the series but now that I think about ya'll are right, dude was always getting his *%% whoopped! I remember thinking, "Damn, will this cat ever win a fight?!..."
