Just watched the vid. Some customers said they will not be returning to Walmart, looks like the announcer won.

Prolly just someone who figured out the intercom code. They arent that hard usually. Just have to see a real employee typing it into the phone. In high school me and my boys found out the intercom code for the school and you could access it from any phone in the school. So we would just go to an empty class room and say dumb #*$% over the intercom at random times.

At a lot of these stores the intercoms are built into the phones, hell some don't even have codes and ones that do usually have a post it with the code on it

Whether it was a prank or not, I'm sure it's not the best feeling in the world to be told to leave an establishment over a public announcement system just because you belong to a certain group of people.

In fact, I'd would venture to think that some would find that rather humiliating.

I think you probably need to become a bit more sensitive to that reality.

When the announcement was made, were employees of said establishment following up and escorting people out?
If so, that would be humiliating.

However, if everyone just looked around and continued about their business, the only loser here would be the store and its integrity.

Errrrr...they probably didnt know it was a joke or not?

But by the times the news were reported, the fact that it was a joke would have been established.

I just dont find it necessary for the news to report dumb jokes like this one. It does nothing but add fuel to the fire.
Ex: Just by looking at the title of this thread one would think that wal mart has established a new policy against black customers.

I could picture the news flash now...

"Black people, no longer welcome at Wal Mart"
Great way to get people mad over a dumb joke by some clown.
