WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - Up Next: Brave New World 02/14/25

I don't even want to do a review for this movie. No words are needed.... Like how do you even take the first film serious after this. How do you watch a scene like a piece of a country blowing up in mid air and still find a way to say A1 is better? The first 20 mins of A2 is better then all of A1. The funny thing is the film basically presents that as picking up right where the last film leaves off, in terms of the sequence team fighting and the chemistry of the team in the beginning. I don't know if you guys noticed...but those Mf'ers were fighting in the snow in a forrest...not some generic city landscape that they were accused of copying from Transformers: Dark of the moon. THE SCENERY, THE ACTION, THE NEW CHARCTERS. I won't be extremely unreasonable though, yes there are things they could've done better on. Yes Ultron could've been less human with his dialogue but I see where they were coming from. Yes, they could've used Wakanda more but I see what they were doing. Yes they didn't have to play up the "out of nowhere" banner/ romanoff relationship to play down the "out of nowhere but based off of actual source material" relationship of vision/ Scarlett witch but I can understand where a relationship like that can come into play later...this movie was a visual gift. Something I never could imagine i would see in my time and you guys are still stuck on the fact that hulk transformed at will? Lol wait lemme guess, Loki's dialogue? Because his dialogue wasn't better in Thor 2... but you all hated that film too remember? FOH I'm not understanding any of you guys putting the first over this. It's everything the first one was times 2, what a sequel should be. What were some of you looking for I'm honestly curious, because I'm convinced anyone putting the first over the second doesn't have a reason other than "it was the first time" or "it was magical seeing them all together for the first time". You know what is magical, the fact that Joss Whedon even had the foresight to try and trump the first one and gave you everything he did with this film. The film even gave the inifinity gems more action then Guardians did......you guys are insane, honestly.

Slow clap.

This one was miles ahead of the first. Dudes are tripping.

^Take a breath, dog.

In general, in this thread, everyone seems to like the film.

I think half the problem is that we're just spoiled. Marvel has straight up spoiled us so now it's just nitpicking at things cuz we want 'em perfect.

I think when it's all said and done, we're going to miss Whedon.

He had an enormous task ahead of him, I don't blame him for quitting

He had to

Establish Ultron.

Establish Scarlet.

Establish Quicksilver.

Establish Vision.

Take that big ensemble of heroes and spread out the dialogue among them so everyone feels important and not "left out."

Work in character beats for everyone while at the same time plotting out action beats throughout the film.

Make the movie dark to show the growing "evolution" of the MCU movies, but at the same time having funny moments.

He redeemed the heck out of Hawkeye after giving him the shaft in the first movie.

Most complex film to date and it's not even close. Give a ton of other writers this same task and it'll be a cluster ******* mess for real

I know a lot of you guys have put other marvel films over this and it's all right, you're welcome to your opinion - but all those writers had less on their plate than Whedon - it remains to be seen if any of them are up to task of writing for an Avengers film. We shall see.

They don't get it. They'll praise Singer for doing half of this with DoFP. You give these dudes a party at Avengers tower with a drunk Stan Lee and they aren't satisfied. I don't know what's wrong with these people

^But it's really not like anyone is lambasting the film.

Almost everyone seems to like this film up in here. It's just we're spoiled and it's hard to wow most of us anymore cuz we've come to expect so much.

I have to admit I was the same way. I didn't leave the film being wowed. But I really do like the film and I suspect it's my number 1 film.

I think what it is, when you expect to be wowed - it's really hard to get wowed.

It's pretty much gonna lead to the comic book movie bubble bursting eventually. You have to keep one upping the past film. It's one thing that the fast and furious franchise has been able to do, but I think that future marvel movies aren't going to be able to keep it up( not talking avengers but the other franchises)

MCU needs more villains!!!!!

I still don't know who has the rights to Kang but that's who I want to see in the MCU.

Enchantress better be in the next Thor film

I'm sure the bubble will burst eventually, but definitely not before 2019. Everything Marvel has been doing has been working towards that point. Anyone who has invested any time in any marvel movie are not skipping the Infinity War movies.

And if it bursts after that point, well, it was a good run. An 11 year run. And Marvel can chill and reset after a little while.

It's a bigger problem for DC movies because they're still trying to get their universe up and running at this point. Lol, if it bursts before they barely have even started..

There's no such thing as the comic movie bubble bursting. These super heroes are 40+ years old and their stories are making billions. My grand kids will be watching the new batman movie

Edit- and that's objectively speaking. B blakep267 you know in not coming at you personally. You're still my buddy for that live 2-day trial :o

Uhhhhh, bruh on the last page, I said 7.7-7.8 out of 8, fam. An inside, NT movie joint rating scale of 8, not 7.7/10.

And I CLEARLY said, better than 1, loved the film, etc. I just didn't place it above Winter Soldier.

So, maybe comprehend your reading a smidge better before you paragraph me to death. ;) :lol

I think DC and marvel are in 2 different places. I think that Marvel will make it to 2019 but I don't see stuff like Thor 3 or black panther doing well at all and the marvel formula reaching its breaking point.

DC is moving much slower so people aren't tired of the universe yet.

I mean it bursting from the stand point where everything is gonna have to go away for a few years and then come back reset. Not like people are never gonna wanna watch them again

Falcon should have been up in the sky with War Machine battling the Ultron bots

Also I think they should have shown QS being aware of Hawkeye having a wife and kids, would have made his sacrifice hit a lil bit more

I was thinking the same thing, my 5 year old son said it out loud in the theatres, "where's falcon?" :lol I enjoyed the movie, its different from the A1. This movie dipped into their personal lives more. It showed their "human" side, their fears & vulnerabilities etc. A1 seemed more like put aside your differences and fight for one common goal. The movie did seem fast tho, pacing was good.

They ain't have to kill Baron. :{

I'm giving these dudes no more passes with how they treat they villains.

Ugh who the hell rates movies out of 8?

The only thing I was calling you out on was the rating, nothing else. I specifically said your name on that point. Nothing else

If you realized I said "you people" when I was being critical of everyone rating I've been reading. "You people" don't mean you.

So maybe you need to read my review again, before making silly judgements

The way scarlet witch moves when she comes out the room and sees cap and Baron Von Strucker was so creepy :x this film was just brilliant cinematography wise

Bro one of my favorite parts was when Quick asked her "You just going to let him take that?" and she smiles.

It was a chilly, yet sexy villainous smile

She had me on the hook after that :o

QS running into the police station telling them to evacuate.

Police look at him like wtf? and just go about their business

QS comes back with a gun and shoots up the place :lol :lol

What does it matter to you cuz? Bottom line, there are lots of us that jokingly use the 8 scale, all you need to know.

7.7-7.8/8, in other words, it was a great movie. Which I said, clearly. So we're good now. Carry on.

I liked how Thor immediately went for Stark's throat as soon as they dealt with Ultron the first time. I wished they would have kept up with that a little longer as well. But I think they didn't want to go overboard with the similarity between the first one where they spend the whole movie fighting each other. But in terms of Civil War coming up, could have been good way to show the divide.
