I don't believe this, but it's a very interesting answer.Originally Posted by JFMartiMcDandruff
you have the choice to go meet god or return to earth in another person's body.

What makes you think it would be anything different?

When you die your brain essentially turns off....why would you equate a natural human neurological event such as dreaming to death? A dead brainin incapable of dreaming....now that's unless you believe dreams have nothing to do with the brain and more to do with the "soul" and othersupernatural events.Originally Posted by CherryRed

i think all the answers about dying can be found by paying attention to sleeping/dreaming.
one of the first religions(if not the first) was called dreamtime.

I guess most of the where we end up when we die debate hinges on whether or not you believe in the existence of a soul.

What if there's a nuclear holocaust on earth and starting over isn't possible, or at least doesn't make sense?
If we humans are nothing but another animal, then the thought of death is so depressing because wherever we go, it's the same place where trillions of ants, worms and mosquitoes go when they die, and I'm pretty sure that's not some romantic place like heaven.
That's taking reincarnation from the standpoint that in the universe we are alone .... and if that was the case what would be it's point..... I don't get how death could ever be depressing ... I'd say if there is one true fate, it is death ... in some ways we are born dead, and life isnot granted until you accept that, only then can you truly move forward without hesitation and because of this finite timeline the leaps in creation areachieved ...Originally Posted by THE FAME

earth or other planets which is not true.
But as far as your second statement goes.
One would say such things as insects and other animals. Dont have souls.
